10 Minutes Into Bush Speech And

Wed Jun 29, 2005 9:19 am

Alls I have heard is talking points...........so far no substance.....

He hasnt said one thing of how we are winning the war on terrorisim but thats right Bush,Cheney, and the 9/11 commision have all said the Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 after they said they did....if thats the case why are we over there.

Bush earlier today said the bloodbath in Iraq was worth it....if he really believes that when does he prove it and send Jenna and Barbara to fight.

How many more lies will the US public let him tell before they say enough is enough.......Remember the Downing Street Memos.......

Same old shit. He's still trying to substantiate his Iraq invasion f*ck up. He's trying to say that Iraq is directly related to the terrorist attacks on the USA.

I dont need to wait for him to finish....Remember The downing Street Memos...

You know bush is crap at speeches, you don't agree with him or his policies, you know you'll just spout shit about him here if you watch it, yet you still watch it anyway, and comment on his speech before it's even finished....I hate bush as much as anyone, but you really need some help. It's called obsessive compulsive disorder...

RSmith starts his usual spewing. Give it a rest, as you make all of us that don't support Dubya look as bad as you. You know you don't have to turn the vast majority of the threads you post in or start into a bash Bush thread. And learn how to spell, it's minute not miniutes. Your spelling errors erode any chance for any credibility you're trying to get.

If that wasn't a "we need more soldiers" at the end of the speech, I don't know what it was.

Mostly terrorism, as expected, but I did notice that bin Laden's name was mentioned a few times.

Mr. Bush we all heard this stuff already!

I can't belive how many time times he mentioned Iraq was involved with 9/11! How dumb does he think America is??

One part of the speech I found funny/interesting was when he said he will send more troops to Iraq if the commanders need them, then he said he wouldn't send more troops because the Iraqis will not stand up for themselves. He also said he will not send troops to make it look like we will be there forever. (that's not exactly what he said, but that was the basics of it)

Well Duh, The US Army always needs more soldiers. That's why the US Armed Forces recruits 365 days a year(theoretically).

Bush is still trying to paint a connection between September 11th and Iraq, even though there is none according to the 9/11 Commission. He hopes by mentioning 'September 11th' and 'Iraq' in the same sentence the Americans will support the Iraqi adventure.

The invasion in Iraq is about regime change, it had nothing to do with Iraq's terrorism threat against the US. It's a tactic of reminding us of the fear we felt at 9/11 mixed with a play towards patriotism - note his blatent use of references to the brave military and 'unfaltering' American people - to advance his political goal of a new regime in Iraq.

Bush wants us to believe there is an Al Qaeda boggeyman behind every bush (no pun intended). It's a Hitler tactic: to get the public to support your agression, first insist that there was a threat or agression aimed at us first.

How long is Bush going to use 9/11 to justify anything he wants?

Cairo

no connection between Iraq and Al Qaeda/9-11:

This comment always gives me a good laugh whenever I here it from Lefties. Maybe its because the President, as well as almost any parent of grown children over the age of 18, dont have a say. It's no longer the parents decision to make once they are legal adults. In the case of President Bush, his daughter aren't only over 18, but in their twenties and graduated! Common now!

if he was serious about catching OBL, he would have
A) not started the war in Iraq and pulled troops out of Afghanistan for this
and
B) Accepted the offer of rthe German government to send a battalion of trained mountain troops (Gebirgsjäger) to Afghanistan. Instead, when they had OBL almost cornered in Tora Bora, he let his flanks to be guarded by the Afghan Northern Alliance. As we know today, OBL simply bribed his way out of the trap.

I was VERY VERY disappointed. I turned on the TV and all I saw on just about every station was his smirking chimpanzee mug.. I turned it off. There was nothing good to see on TV tonight I guess. I could've already guessed at what he was going to say anyways.. Same old shit, right?

As long as OBL remains at large, there is a figure head to the mysterious enemy Bush so desperately needs to justify his Iraq policy, the "Patriot Act", etc...

With no enemy...we might have to concentrate on domestic matters like the world-record deficit Iraq has cost us or the fact that the US education system is marginal at best.

OBL will be caught when it suits the Republican party, perhaps about 3 months before the next election. Of course he could be caught, the CIA chief the other day admitted he knows pretty much where he's at. But, what fun would that be - he might talk and reveal things about his previous American support.

Typical Smith Post -

Speech is 10 minutes old and he's already drawing conclusions and spewing bullshit.

Here's a conclusion for you RSmith - nope, better not - don't want to be banned. But I'll post it on the "other site" . . .

So are you Smitty - your problem is, unlike as you say Bush's is, you don't change tunes, you just keep spewing the same old shit day after day. Your monotonous, ridiculous, inane babble just continues to prove you've got nothing of substance to add to any conversation and continues to perpetuate the already cemented thought everyone has that you're over the edge.

Read some of the replies you get to your posts. That ought to be your wake up call! That ought to tell you just how absurdly ineffective your posts are.

Hell, even if you occasionally, maybe have a point you desstroy your credibility with the other two dozen threads of this type you produce. Get over it, Smitty.

Difference between you and I Smitty, I have an option of blasting your posts when ever I see them. I choose to exercise that option.

You're so obsessed with bashing Bush you don't have an option. You HAVE to jump on it every chance you get - even inventing reasons - remember the Lost Boy Scout thread - to bash him.

Get over yourself Smitty. You're posts are a waste of bandwidth.  talktothehand

Bush could suddenly agree with everything Rsmith says, admit his errors, and announce Jenna and Barbara will be starting boot camp in the morning.. and Rsmith would still find something to bitch about.

I do have to wonder where the threshold for flamebait is on this board.

24 Hours Later and it appears as though most of America didnt care about last night disaterous speech.

http://today.reuters.com/news/newsAr...REPORT-BUSH-SPEECH-AUDIENCE-DC.XML

OS ANGELES (Reuters) - President Bush's address to the nation, urging Americans to stand firm in Iraq, drew the smallest TV audience of his tenure, Nielsen Media Research reported on Wednesday.

Why should people have watched this speeches they after all are nothing but bits and peices from other speeches...he said nothing we hadnt heard in the the last week from his lips.... So much for Capital
