Are there any Welsh players in the line up? I remember my sister moaning that they had chosen an all english team even though Wales won the grand slam this year.

Dunno, think it was 99% English with 1% Irish/Welsh. No Scots at all, not surprising given who the scumbag coach is  Wink

Confirms what I've said all along,England's World Cup triumph was a fluke.

When a team that contains predominantly English players gets turned over like this, then it shows how far we've slipped in the last couple of years.

RU is for girlies anyway,if you want to see a proper version of the game then watch Rugby League - far more entertaining  stirthepot

No surprise really. Agree with Steve7E7 that it was a fluke.

There was notalking to the English after that, as they were all creaming their pants over this J Wilkonson. When will they realise that he was a one hit wonder, and actually hasnt dont much since whenever. Wait, hold on, is that 1966 I hear you chant.

Get over it, ok, English people either are winning sport, or the others are cheating. WTF? I am so over it, it hurts.

England is shite, so please no more bashing other countries if England actually happens to win something for a minute or a day.

Thanks

I noticed that Prince William attended.

Did he visibly support England or New Zealand?

....and England are 24-4... off 8 overs. If you couldn't see it coming, batting conditions are terrible.

What a load of crap I am reading!

The Lions got beaten because the All Blacks are a bunch of Superman. I play a lot of rugby and know when I see a team of super humans! New Zealand are breading a pack of lightning quick animals with agility and raw desire to win at every break down of the game.

I have never seen a team of such savage, awesome players. They made the Lions look like a bunch of amateurs, they are physically stronger, much faster and agile than our bunch. That's why they won!

Did you see how fkcing big Jerry Collins is, the bloke with the blonde hair has biceps bigger than my bloody legs. He is like a bear!

A Few points to the fools spouting nonsense.

There were only 6 Englishmen in the Lions starting line up.

England's World Cup was no fluke - they had an awesome team, some of which have since retired.

Wilkinson's no one hit wonder - he's been injured pretty much continuously since the World cup.

The England World Cup winning side was 200% stronger than the Lions.
I used to think the brain is the most fascinating part of my body. But, hey, who is telling me that?

The BIL's were outclassed in EVERY way. They had made some improvements since the last test (by NOT picking mostly Englishmen) but were still mediocre. Even getting off to a flying start with Thomas' try was not enough. The AB's were awesome. Dan Carter's kicking in sometimes blustery conditions was superb, and he now holds the record, apparently, for the highest individual scorer against the Lions.

This has been a great tour, with great fans and great rugby.

Go the AB's!

Well hey I said a few weeks ago that the All Blacks will thrash the lions. Even with Prince william training with the lions and watching at the wellington westpac stadium, still didn't help

Exactly. The rest of the English team aren't good enough to make the Lions squad.

Quoting Ryanb741 (Reply 17):
England's World Cup was no fluke - they had an awesome team, some of which have since retired.

The greatest "awesome" teams also have strength in depth and a quality replacement for every position on the field.England won the World Cup with 15 good players and nothing in reserve,as their recent results have shown.

Quoting Ryanb741 (Reply 17):
Wilkinson's no one hit wonder - he's been injured pretty much continuously since the World cup

So basically England are a one man team then. The mark of a great player in any sport is one of consistency in every match and the ability to stay fit,so staying injury free. Mr Wilkinson obviously fails to satisfy these criteria.

I find it sad that we have to discuss the England success in a past tense.Even with Wilkinson in the side we struggle against lesser teams now, this only 2 years since our greatest triumph.

The state of English RU can be seen by Clive Woodward's decision to leave the game and join a football club. When the head coach turns tail and flees, surely that tells you something.

England suck without Johnnie Wilkinson. Their tactics during the RWC were just to create a maul and bulldoze the ball over the line. Failing that, get Wilkinson within range of the goal posts and let him just finnish them off with drop goals. Failing that, milk a penalty and let Wilkinson take a shot at goal. They tried this tactic during the Lions tour of Australia and it failed. But with Clive Woodward as coach of both the Lions and England, it obviously gave them an insight into the Wallabies weaknesses and allowed them to exploit them during the RWC.

So yes, it was just a fluke.

Great Great Awsome Game. Notice Prince William was sitting next to Jock Hobbes. What a contrast. Black...Red...

Anyway Its been said in the news here over and over again, that before the tour, sir Clive said this was the best prepared lions side in history, and so far..... we all know wahts going on.

At least they beat Manuwatu.  Smile
