Is The European Parliment On Crack?

Sun Jul 17, 2005 2:03 pm

Quote:
Cocaine traces have been found at the European Parliament in an inquiry by one of Germany's main broadcasters.

The Sat-1 channel sent reporters to take 46 swabs from toilets and other public areas of the Brussels buildings. Nearly all tested positive for cocaine.

A European Parliament spokeswoman said cocaine abuse was not a problem among staff working at the buildings.

LOL! I found this pretty funny. It's kind of sad too when you think about it. I guess politicians who sell their souls have to fill that void somehow.  Big grin

No, you'll find traces of Cocaine basically everywhere. In your purse, on public toilets (the toilets in the EU Parliament are used by other folks such as journalists, too) .. whereever.

I don't say, members of the Parliament don't sniff, some indeed may do but it is not worse then everywhere else.

Bank notes used for sniffing cocaine (which is thoroughly disgusting any way you look at it!) will distribute the stuff among the entire money stock. If you´ve got some well-used bank notes right now, it´s almost certain they carry traces of cocaine.

The stuff is almost everywhere.

The EU lot are certainly on something, whether it be crack, ecstasy or whatever else, judging by some of the  crazy  stuff they come up with.
EU - Corrupt, and now on drugs!

Indeed, there was a study on this in London's financial centre a few years ago and the results were rather striking.

I don't believe that they are, but if it's true then so what!? All sorts of people take drugs so why not the European Parliament? Who are we to dictate their lives?

We´re their employers, so we actually do have some justification to demand that they´re not stoned on their job! Big grin

If you´re actually looking into it, however, you´ll find that the European Parliament in general takes it´s job relatively seriously and does it quite well all in all - they´ve just got too little power as of now. (The constitution would have changed that.)

First of all, cocaine is not just a drug, it's one of the worst ones and it's illegal. And apart from the kind of drug - I expect well-paid and powerful politicians who make decisions about our lives to be clear in the brain.

I can only speak for myself, and I know what's best for me... but I can't tell others what to do and that is also none of my business. They should suit themselves if that's what they want.

You have a valid point, but they're doing their job well aren't they? As long as that's happening, I don't care how they achieve it  Wink

Then you have to be glad they're only well-paid.  Wink

We don't know what they do not do because of possible drug consume. And whether they do a good job or not is a totally different question...

Not only...unfortunately.
