Amtrak Standby Policies?

Mon Jul 18, 2005 11:24 pm

I know we have a few Amtrakphiles and train enthusiasts here, so maybe yall can help me out...can't find the answer to what Im looking for on Amtrak's website..

Anyways, I have a trip coming up tonight on the Metroliner, but in thinking about it, there's a 50/50 chance that I will miss that train because Im not sure what time I'll be done with what Im doing this evening, and I feel like I didn't leave enough time for that...anyways, I checked, and there are four trains going on my route after that Metroliner, so my question is, how much of a pain in the butt would it be to get my ticket changed if I do arrive at the station late and miss my train? I have the boarding pass in front of me, and it says "no partial refund if used on other service", which is fine, but I can't find anything specifying exactly what to do to get on another service...can anyone help me out?

Thanks,
Greg

call Amtrak and ask.

if assumptions could fly, airliners.net would be the world's busiest airport
