Los Angeles Angels In The 17th Inning.

Fri Jul 29, 2005 12:43 pm

I'm sitting in my room right now watching the Angels play the Blue Jays. They are in the bottom of the 17th inning. I think they should call it a tie and turn off the stadium lights. Anyone endure a game longer than 9 innings before?

Regards.

Someone who is sitting watching a 17th inning stalemate baseball game (which ALREADY is a game that consists mainly of just standing around) telling ME to "get a life".

The Rangers, a year or two ago, went to 20-something I think. Maybe 23? I know for sure it was at least 17. They were scheduled a double header but played through it.

And just why the #&(@)*!&(@&*!)(&$ would they do that?  banghead  The game is played til it's over, and a team wins, regardless of how long it takes...clearly you are not a baseball fan with a freakin attitude like that...

Call it a tie? Are you out of your ever loving mind? Oh, wait...I forgot who started this thread. After the fiasco of the All-Star Game when Spinless Simpering Selig with his backbone made of Jell-O called the game to the jeers of the media and the fans, a baseball game will be called a tie roughly the same day you actually attend law school - never. Besides that, how in the hell would you figure a tie into the standings? Critical thinking is obviously not your forte. Ties, quite simply, suck and are a rarity in almost all sports except hockey, which is eliminating them.

Edit: Notice he's in "his room." Not his apartment, not his living room, not his bedroom, but "his room." Anyone else notice that's a term predominantly used by those who live with their parents still? Could our legal beagle be faking it?

18 innings and it only ended because the second baseman of the Angels got tired and wanted to end it.
