Well we've torn apart the debate on John Bolton, it doesn't seem we will change opinion on this. So I'd rather like to see what people think of him in a simple survey. Obviously this is very unscientific, but I just want to see the opinion of the members here. So the question is simple, just answer YES or NO.
Do you think that John Bolton is the right person to be the current United States representative to the United Nations? (YES/NO)
While I agree that the UN is seriously f-ed up, and needs a lot of significant reform to make it viable again long-term, I believe that it will take someone who can work with other key member nations to bring about these reforms. John Bolton doesn't appear to be that individual.
A recess appointment is justified if matters arise and the USA needs representation, however I'm not convinced that Bush acted properly in this case.
And the winner for best actress is....REESE WITHERSPOON for 'Walk the Line'!!!!!!!!
He´ll try to damage the UN as far as possible, dragging the USA down with him in the process. From his track record so far it´s highly doubtful he was competent enough to participate in any meaningful reform.
Bolton might be a prick who's accused of not liking the UN, but I don't want a UN bootlicker in there. Regardless of party affiliation or White House resident, I want a guy who will effectively represent the US, our interests and sovereignty aggressively in the United Nations Debate Club & Coffee House.
