Peter Kay for his comedy series, 'Phoenix Nights' and his awesome British stand-up, and also Ricky Gervais for his role in 'The Office' and his 'Animals' stand-up!

Overall though, Lee Evans wins it for me with his energy on-stage, just keeps going and going and going and goi...

Amazing!

Peter Kay and Harry Enfield, especially for the characters Kevin And Perry he created. A very funny movie as well as his shows.

Bill Cosby.

On his audio recording Cosby and the Kids, the "Old Weird Harold" set was great. He also did a bit on Bill Cosby Live called "Noah" which is my kind of Biblical humour.

Lewis Black, I've seen him every time he has come to town.
You can see him on his "Rules of Enragement" tour, or periodically on the Daily Show.

Agree, add Jcs17 to that list. His "I can't work 21 hours in ten days!" thread was way too funny!

As for full-time comedians, I love George Carlin's "Jammin' in New York" and his overall "f*ck you all" humour.

Dennis Miller.

A lot of people find him obnoxious and nerdy, but I love how his references are so broad and require a ton of outside information. I'll listen to a Dennis Miller CD then fully understand a particular joke he made 2-3 years later when I get all the pieces together. I like that sort of subtle nuance comedy, it isn't slap-stick cheesy comedy that gets laughs just by saying "penis" or "boobs."

The first thing I thought when I read the title of this thread was, "Oh man, I have to find pics of Dane Cook and Bill Engvall!" These are my two favorites as well, that's so weird! Never found someone else who likes them both, because their styles are so different.

I also love Russell Peters, I don't think any of you have heard of him, he's relatively unknown. I like SOME of George Carlin's stuff, but he's too negative and vulgar for me. I like his political satire though.

My first influence in comedy. Doesn't go for the easy laugh, and I respect the hell out of that.

Brian Regan

Anything he says is funny, he's just natural and relatable. Keeps it 100% clean too, which is amazing itself.

Dane Cook

Dane Cook is exactly how I would be if I was still doing comedy. This guy is going to be huge.

Jon Stewart

The man is in my head, God bless him for exposing some of these assholes in Washington, and actually being funny while he does it. His non political stuff is great too.

Lewis Black

See above.  Wink

Chris Rock

Aggressive, hard core, but most importantly, prolly one of the most intelligent comedians ever.
