Buenos Aires has plenty of things to offer, for every single age, tastes and, most important, for every single budget. Especially you who is coming from Great Britain, will find the city to be very cheap, thanks to our devaluated peso (1 GBP = 5,25 ARS as of Friday).

But in order to tell you what you must see during your visit, please give us more details! When are you coming? How long are you staying? Do you have any preferences (football, museums, partying, etc.?

Saludos,

U can expect great weather, beautiful people, wonderful steaks, great wines (although I didnt try any, this is the word on the street about BAires), friendly people. The city is beautiful, kind of spread out, but it has lovely wide avenues (including the worlds widest city street). I had a lovely time there this past January. It was one of the best trips i've been on in my life.

Be sure not to miss:

-Puerto Madero (Very classy area with great restaurants-- MAKE SURE TO GO TO CABA~NA LAS LILAS. Excellent steaks.) Touristy, but very nice. Dont miss it.

-Recoleta; walk around during the day. The architecture is beautiful, its another very classy area.

-San Telmo

-Jardin Botanico- Beautifully kept gardens in the middle of the city. its like its own haven, I went there three times!!

-Go to the Mausoleum where Evita Peron is buried. This was one of the most magnificent places I went to in BA. Its so quiet, yet all the mausoleums are individual, beautiful. (I believe this is in Recoleta area). ALSO, go to the same area on a sunday, and you will find a massive market, full of locally made goods, souveniers, jewlewry.

Most of all, enjoy the relaxing city that BA is. I swear, its named Buenos Aires for a reason.

Well, I should be coming down at the end of september, for a week. I'm certainly going to take a tour of the city (tour busses?) and maybe i'll go clubbing one night as well

And meeting A.netters  Yeah sure  Big grin

Buenos Aires is one of the non-stop all night fun cities in Latin America. Now, it's coming back to life after the huge recession/depression that affected the country in 2001/2002.

You've got everything to do, from spotting planes at AEP and going to the horsetrack and gambling, to having a complete city tour done by A.netters or professional tour guides.  Silly

Now now, Lee, you are sure flying your BMI's new MAN-LHR-LPB-COR-EZE route, flown with an A330-200, right?  Silly LOL

Just give us a hollar and we will bug you during your trip!
Welcome, and enjoy!

Cheers! wave

Hi,
I was in BsAs and Cordoba in July this year.
I really liked BsAs, and I had a great view from my hotel room (the 14th floor or something of the Sheraton).
But, one thing to add, would be 'be careful'. I found driving through BsAs at night to be quite unnerving. In fact, I found it scarier than the times I've had in Niamey, Niger.

You'll have fun though Big grin
Argentinians are quite hot, too!

Despite all the grudges between Brazil and Argentina, I have to admit it... Buenos Aires is a GREAT city!! I spent 5 days over there.. lots of places to eat, to drink, to visit... and the girls.....................

You can have a very good stay at very good prices  Smile

I still have to go back south to know the rest of the country Big grin

BA is great. Steak is an absolute must - you will never eat British steak again! Many women are fine - and you can take some of them back to your hotel, if you're so inclined  Wink Go and see Eva Peron (but don't take her home).

It's been quite cold the last few days, but overall it's been a wierd winter, with temperatures going from 2-3 º to even 25 º!

October should be warmer, but again, since the weather has been really wierd it could be freezing cold, there's really no clue as to what can happen!

It is horrendously cold in Mendoza, below zero and snow all over the place...

When in Buenos Aires try the pizza, it's actually better IMHO than Italian pizza and I've tried both. There are literally dozens and dozens of different types of pizzas and topping combinations. The pasta is great though here Italy is still #1.

Everyone knows about the parilladas (steaks). Also, get a picada which is a combination of all kinds of cheeses, nuts, and sausages, along with a good mug of cold beer. Picadas are most delicious in the summer, but can be enjoyed anytime. Of course argentine ice cream is a must! Alfajores too. Try also trying some 'country' cooking like Locro (the national stew), etc... Well, there are way too many different foods and regional cuisines people all over the world love from Argentina. Dulce de Leche...

At the end of september it can be coolish to very nice, but by that time all the trees will be in bloom, particularly the Jacarandas which should be approaching a bright pink.
