Those are quite dramatic. Thanks for the link. The catastrophe is greater than I can comprehend.

I've heard that our hospital here in Bristol, TN has received notice that we may receive as many as 30-35 patients in transfer from N.O., and will probably initiate the 'disaster plan' if so.

Yeah were living... in a modern world.

Does the modern world mean it should not be susceptible to Natural Disasters?

The difference between our modern world, as Ted calls it. And the world of 50 or 100 years ago is the speed at which we will recover from this.

50 years ago you'd just see one picture or two on a tv.

75 years ago you'd just hear about it on the radio.

100 years ago you'd just read about it in the newspaper.

250 years ago you'd just sing about it sitting around a campfire

500 years ago you'd read about it through someone's notes

1,000 years ago you'd hear about it through someone telling stories

2,000 years ago it would have made the Bible.

I think it's a Mike and the Mechanics song, and I meant that it's amazing that now adays we can watch the suffering "real" time

I hope you are right

I KNOW you are right... unfortuantely

In another 'footnote' of the "Modern World" Someone was listening to what he purported to be a Scanner feed over the internet of the NOPD dping their job. I haven't heard it on the 'real' media yet but allegedly a ferry boat captain was shot according to the feed. No word on how badly.  Sad
