Someone called Lorenz Bus Service Inc. about 10 a.m. and said there was a bomb on bus 556, said James Canine, the company president. The bus was immediately stopped near a downtown Minneapolis hotel; only the bus driver was on board, Canine said.
"There was no bomb found," said Minneapolis police spokesman Ron Reier, adding that police do not know who made the threat.
Lorenz, which is based in Blaine, has been transporting replacement workers for a few weeks, along with other bus companies, Canine said.
Reier said the bus companies had not been threatened before.
