Car Stereo Question

Mon Sep 19, 2005 11:44 pm

Hopefully, someone in the US who's up on car audio offerings can help me out. I'm looking for an in-dash unit for a Dodge Caravan (that big, clunky American car stereo size) that has a front interface for an iPod. I don't want to have to use a casette adapter to plug my iPod into the car stereo. Is there anything like this available?

IMHO: This place has everything, if it exists, they should have it: http://www.crutchfield.com/

Crutchfield is the best spot to look for stuff like that, and they do make decks that can interface with your iPod. I'm a big Alpine guy and I know they have all kinds of features like that. Nothing like cruising Craptown in your Caravan listening to Ministry.

You should see the looks I get playing Prince's 'Darling Nikki' and 'Gett off'.

I third the recommendation for Crutchfield. I've used them time and time again with no complaints. They have damn near everything for your car, and the best customer support in the industry. I would suggest this Aiwa model. Only $99.99, and has an aux input right on the front. Good specs too, especially the 120db signal-to-noise ratio and 23.2 watt per channel amp.

A-10 Thunderbolt II, ugly as hell, efficient as hell, would you like to meet my boomstick?

Thanks for the heads-up, Drewfly. I ordered that Aiwa.
