Help - Where To Stay In Paris (cheap)

Tue Sep 27, 2005 5:41 am

Hi all,

I finally found a great deal to go to Romania. At the end of December, I'll fly from Detroit to Bucharest, with Air France, obviously via Paris. Since I will be in Paris for the first time, I would love to stop one night and see the city, or at least its most obvoious landmark.

This question is mostly for Parisians. Where can I stay overnight that would be affordable (100 Euros/night is a little too much for my budget). I'm sure there must be some cheap motels around CDG.

What's the best way to get to city centre? Bus? Train?

Thanks for your answers.

Look for an ETAP or Formule 1 hotel.

Cheap and clean!

Take the RER (train) into the city.

This summer, a few of us a.netters stayed at a hotel close to CDG airport during the Paris Air Show. It is about 15-20 minute by RER (train) into Paris and connects directly with the Metro. I paid 25 Euros per night including breakfast.

This is the website I used to get the good prices. I booked a few hotels through them and got amazing deals.

You could always try out 707cmf or Teahan's couch or underneath the CDG T1 airbridge.

If these options do not appeal to you look for cheap prices here :

depending on the week you come here, you can rent a room at one of the hotels of the Parc des Expositions, which are one RER stop from CDG. There you'll have anything from the 1st class (budget) to the kyriad/mercure.

Take the RER into town, and if E89 is too much per night then look for the 2 star hotels around the latin quarter. More character than the elcheapo hotels around the airport.

If E89 is not too much, then you should look into the Hotel de L'Empereur. Next to Invalides, very friendly and very nice.
