Audi RS4 2005

Sun Oct 02, 2005 9:54 pm

Well,

-who likes the car, I do.
-things you like about the car.
-things you dislike about the car.
-anything else you want to say.

Also does anybody know where I can get a good quality RS4 Logo.

Me

Power, power, power!

>> -things you dislike about the car.

Can't say for sure, but it looks and seems heavier than some of its competitors, like the BMW M3 and C55 AMG. I've never driven the S4, but I've heard it's steering isn't as nimble as the M3.

>> -anything else you want to say.

Wouldn't mind owning one ...  Wink

Dfw, what you posed was not a 05 RS4, but a previous generation S4, here is a 05 RS4..

Big difference in horsepower, looks and price.

I have one, a B6 S4 that is. It is significantly heavier that an M3 but handles as well. It is designed to smooth out the driving experience so it may feel less responsive, but its an illusion.

Bag of crap.

A Cadillac CTS-V would eat it for breakfast (and did do on Top Gear)

Audis are boring, some might like the conservative styling but I don't. Give me something with a bit of personality, not just a typical jellymould.

You should have been at Road Atlanta yesterday to see Audi eat the competition in P1 with their R8. Truly awesome!

Ah that was the old car. The new one is quite spectacular by all accounts. Even the journos are raving over it - saying it can eat an M3 and finally has a decent ride and handling combo.

450BHP from a v8 is not boring  Wink

WhiteHatter, in which episode of top gear does a cadillac outperform a RS4? And we're talking about handling here, not about straight-line performance...

In a comparison test published in the November 2004 edition of "Car and Driver" the old Audi S4 clearly kicked the CTS-Vs butt. A rematch would most likely result in an even bleaker picture for the Cadillac.

Get used to it: No matter have much Cadillac works on improving their models, they will not catch up with the Japanese and German premium brands in the foreseeable future.

The thing I don't like about it - the price tag. $80k is a whol lot of cash. You can pick up a 911 for that sort of coin. Nice car though. I remember the first RS4 appreciated massively in value for the owners, wonder if this will do the same.

If Cadillac puts a manual transmission in their cars maybe I'd give them a second look. As long as they come only with old-person mechanics, I'm not even considering it. S4, M3, heck, even a Honda Accord V6 in stick over any Cadillac on the road. Fun factor over speed for me!

I mean, come on, I chose a Ford Focus ZX3 in Manual over an Acura RSX with 18,000 miles on it and an automatic tranny.

When did "Top Gear" become a reliable reference? The “British haven’t produced a decent car without foreign help for decades. I think we can say the same about “Top Gear” and their TV programs.

I think the AUDI is one of the best cars on the market.

My only gripe is that I don't care for all wheel drive - although Audi did bias the torque rearward for this car in contrast to their others.

I preferred the older model's styling and interior.

I can't imagine anyone not liking this car but for 80k I'd probably shop elsewhere. The A4 is a good platform but provides little in the way of interior space. I'd either step up to an M5 or go for a pure blooded uncompromising sports car.

I've always maintained that Audi makes some of the most impressive technology in the market - BMW and Mercedes however make the most impressive cars (from a driving perspective).

The car's performance seems awesome but these vents on the bumpers are a bit much IMHO.

Hate the old Audi's, I realy like the new look, especially on the A3 Sporthatch.

I can agree with you there, especially with the M5, and M3.

I would agree with the first part, I would disagree with the second.

Top Gear has been an institution for ages, always giving a fair appraisal of the cars that they test be they good or bad. And of late, it's become highly entertaining as well. I see you're from Norway, B707321C; have you ever watched the program?

Yes, I live and have lived in the UK for the last 3 years. I see the program 2-3 times a week, in lack of better things to do.

I *love* that car! I love the fact that it's typical Audi quality... and its horsepower... but I dislike its price  Wink therefore I can't efford it yet. But I've had the pleasure of driving an "old" (2002?) modified RS4 with 510HP recently on an airport runway. That was definitely fun Big grin

I still think the M3 looks a little more classy, whereas the RS4 looks a little boy-racer, but these two cars are two of my very favourites. Big fan of the 4 wheel drive though.

Question for current Audi owners. Where do you service your vehicle? Is the Audi store conveniently nearby? What do you do when an ABS or Traction Control warning indicator illuminates? How much does it cost for a 30k service or replacement of a wear and tear item like an axle boot or fog lamp? Can you get most services performed same day? Is it worth it?
