I like it! Last Friday I worked a flight with a Cpt. who was retiring and it was his last flight. My friend had "Come Fly With Me" on his iPod and he played it over the PA as the PAX were deplaning. Everyone was shaking the CPT's hand and wishing him well. It was a really nice touch.

Give me a ticket for an Aeroplane (don't know the exact title and who sung it, but it would fit)

Otherwise I would prefer the sound of an F-16 taking off with full afterburner, at least that would be something which everybody could hear  Wink

Ugggh, Come Fly With Me, no way. Same for Leaving On A Jetplane and My Baby Just Wrote Me A Letter. We need something modern, yet still with the aviation spirit.

The Letter by the Box Tops... circa 1966 or 1967.

Anyway, how about The Steve Miller Band's Big Ol' Jet Airliner for the A.net theme song.

Considering the demographics of this site, "It's raining men" would probably fit the best. That, or maybe something by Boy George

Cheesy entry for: "I believe I can fly"

My vote: "Airplane"- Widespread Panic

Spanish entry: "En la ciudad de la Furia"- Soda Stereo

The best German Song and probably the best aviation song ever is "Über den Wolken"
It starts like this:

Wind Nordost, Startbahn Null-Drei, bis hier hör ich die Motoren (Wind Northeast, RW 03, I can hear the engines until here...

An absolute classic...

Don't know if there are any more words to this, and don't know what the melody is , but I think of this little ditty whenver I see students out practicing:

Up in the air, junior birdmen,
Up in the, upside down,
Up in the air, junior birdmen,
Keep your noses off the ground.

Anybody knows the rest of it, if there is any rest, please post it, along with the melody.

I was thinking about that one ,too.A lot of media thought it was
a drug song, but in truth,it's about a 727 flight to the next city on
their tour.

Anyway,my choices would be "Mighty Wings" from Cheap Trick and the theme
from "Top Gun" for the A.net intro.

Actually, compiling a CD with a bunch of "aviation" songs isn't such a bad idea...I'm sure it would sell enough copies at least to cover the cost of producing it, no?

That said, Jet Airliner by Steve Miller is also one of my favorites...
