Joe Satriani is a very talented guitarist and a really nice guy. I have been to 5 of his last 6 concerts. Before, I never had money to go, so I would stand outside the concert venue and listen until he played "Flying in a blue dream." He is amazing to watch. I also have three of his DVDs and all of his CDs except the last G3. Here he is with me (I am wearing the Maple Leaf beanie):

Specifically, 1964-1966. Some great moments from 1974-1976, 1983, 1989-1991. Admittedly, he has produced plenty of utter crap as well, and should probably think about flushing his harp down the toilet at this point, but for sheer imagery and fire, 1964-1966 revolutionized Rock & Roll like no one else.

The late, great, master of post-bop:

Interestingly, Mingus said once that the jazz world should get down on their knees and thank God for giving us Duke Ellington. That may be true, but Mingus' own contribution to music was too unique in its own right for me to pass him over.

I was figuring that Mingus might be lost on the A.net crowd, with a few notable exceptions; besides, I've been on a Dylan kick lately.

Greatest artist of all time, in my opinion. Bella Donna beats anything out there, her work in Fleetwood Mac is amazing, too.

Coldplay is a GREAT band, I actually just finished listening to the new album for the 90th time.

Quoting Dan2002 (Reply 21):

I love Green Day as well. So addicting, I'm hoping to go to a concert sometime soon.

But may favorite band has to be Matchbox 20 (which is now just Rob Thomas). I'm too lazy to get a picture...but it's such a great band.

Lots of bands i'm really into right now....the main ones are Yellowcard and Something Corporate, both Punk bands, but Yellowcard has a lead violinist, which is cool, and Something Corporate has a lot of piano. They are really good for something a bit different.
I am also too lazy to look for pictures right now though...

Armin van Buuren is currently my favorite music artist. I will be at Club Space tomorrow in Miami seeing him spin live. Should be one awesome show. I especially enjoy his live A State of Trance mixes. Tiesto is a great artist as well. He will also be in S. Florida this month.
