Local Comic Strips

Sun Oct 09, 2005 6:21 am

How many of you have local comics in your daily paper.

A local favorite here is Chad Carpenter's TUNDRA.

Chad's daily humor in the Anchorage Daily Newpaper (communist publication owned by McClatchy newspapers) is a killer. It's the only comic in the Daily News I read.

He's got several books, and he's funny as hell . . .

Here's a link.

I've known Chad for a couple of years - a casual acquaintance . . . he's a stand up guy, and quite funny.

If you like black humor (and this is really black), try www.wulffmorgenthaler.com

It's a Danish comic strip from a local newspaper, but translated into English at this site. Unfortunately the translation quality is not always so good, and the point is lost in some of the strips, however, it's worth browsing through them  Smile

We have one called Madam and Eve, basically about a suburban housewife and her home help, the strip usually has comments about current affairs or quirks of South African daily life.
