No Whining Tonight.

Wed Oct 12, 2005 11:56 am

Sure I whine about it when A.net has hiccups, so it's only equal opportunity if I bitch when yang is down. What ever Mendis (or his ISP) did was a doozy. DNS isin't even resolving the IP so nothing to ping. Does anyone remember his IP in case it's 'just the net'/DNS?

Yeah.

Looks like guesshost or enom took a dump. Be interesting to see the outcome.

Not really too important...

...But it might have something to do with a nameserver going ass-out on the net.

"> nslookup {site that ted is talking about}.net
;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached"

Which kinda' makes me wonder about the whole distributed TLD stuff that was alluded to in the following thread:
RE: European Union Wants To Share Control Of Internet (by NoUFO Sep 30 2005 in Non Aviation)

Being a nerd, I found it highly interesting. I recommend that non-nerds ignore this entire post.  Silly

Shortly before the outage, I noticed I was behind on a few threads there.. I would have liked to have seen what was there, and had the ability to comment..

In a sign it's getting better there is now a greet page with the following:

A*WH*N*RS.N*T is experiencing technical difficulties

Our technical staff is working to fix the problem at the moment.
Please come again at a later time. Thank you for your patience.
