No sugar, but one sweetner.

Coffee must be fresh, and never instant.

Either 1 sugar or 2 bombs (they're healthier!).

For tea exactly the same!

No sugar, no sweetener, some milk. I even drink espresso without sugar, but a glass of water to accompany is nice.

I never put plain white sugar. Usually I drink it black, sometimes with just skim milk, sometimes I will put a little skim milk and Raw Sugar or this 2 calories sweetener made from all natural Chinese fruit extracts called Sweet and Slender (bought at Whole Foods in a magenta, yes magenta, box).

Nah, just regular coffee would do it for me. Not the Starbucks-stuff (with their standards I need a triple espresso without sugar...), not the Senseo (Dutch and Belgians will understand), just the stuff I make at home, or the stuff you can get in every Swedish café!

checkmark  Nothing better than coffee the way I want it, at a good price, when I'm enjoying myself at home. However, "cafézinho" pretty much is the regular thing in Brazil.

We have it in Germany, too. I've never tried it, though.

Silly I've had one cup of Starbucks "coffee" during the last year, and that was exactly what I was looking for at the time: a refreshing high-sugar drink with a bit of caffeine to inject some energy into me.

I've taken no sugar in Tea or Coffee since I stopped smoking many years. Smoking definitely dulled the taste palette.

Ok, I didn't remember the Portuguese word. It has been a couple of months since I was in Brazil. We were visiting my Swedish girlfriends brother there, so I got the chance to have Swedish coffee in the first week. The Brazilian hotels have pretty good standards too, so I'd say it comes down to:

Brazil + coffee = good combination
Brazil + coffee + VARIG = about the worst coffee I've ever tasted.

BTW: coffee is my only addiction, hence the effort I put in this thread.

Well, you see, my coffee drinking rules are different depending whether I am on an Airbus plane, a Boeing plane, or a NW DC-9  Wink...

Coffee smells great to me but tastes absolutely disgusting. (Perhaps this is because I have never had any "good" coffee; I don't know.) So when I need a caffeine boost at work, I empty about three powdered-chocolate packets into a cup, then add a large amount of non-dairy creamer powder, then fill the (small) remaining volume in the cup with coffee and maybe a bit of cold water as the straight coffee is too hot to drink.

There, now no-one can complain about someone who "ruins their coffee" _just_ by adding a couple tablespoons of sugar  Wink.

The coffee has to be a strong one, not necessarily an Arabic Coffee, but a kind of Espresso. And then it is between 2 and 5 pieces of sugar, or 4 to 10 pieces of Canderel .

At Canada's Holy mecca, Tim Hortons, I like my large with one milk, two sweetener. If it's gonna be a LONG shift, I come up with my own stay-awake concoction - an XL w/ 3 sugar and three teaspoons of any instant coffee you can find....BAM!

It depends on the coffee type I drink. If it's fresh ground, it's usually about 1.5 teaspoons per 12 oz. of coffee; if it's instant it's 1.0 teaspoons per 12 oz. of coffee. I prefer my coffee a little bit on the sweet side.  Smile

I don't drink as much coffee as I used to, but may have one during lectures if I'm about to fall asleep or at other times. I put about 4-5 packets in. I used to have strong coffees with 6-7 teaspoon of instant coffee and put about 8 sugars to keep me buzzing.  hyper

I usually put 2 sugars in my coffee, especially if it is of the no-sleep-for-hours-afterwards kind.

However I usually drink a capo in bi which is typical of Trieste - a cappuccino in a small glass without handles; alternatively, an espresso ristretto (short shot of coffee). Both are fine with or without sugar.

Brazil has good coffee, but my favorite brand is Italian: Illy Caffè - excellent blend, and they make stylish coffee cups too  Wink

I used not to like coffee until I was about 16 or so...now I couldn't imagine living without my morning espresso cup (luckily we don't have Starbucks here, their coffee is just...ewwww)  Wink
