Most Expensive U.S. Cities?

Thu Oct 20, 2005 2:11 am

In an article released by CNN, Runzheimer International is quoted as having listed the following cities as the top five most expensive to live in throughout the United States:

1. Manhattan
2. San Francisco
3. Los Angeles
4. San Jose
5. Washington, D.C.

I wanted to see what other opinions were on the most expensive U.S. cities to live in, as well as the most expensive cities in the world.  Big grin

Here is an international ranking

My hometown Zurich is now the the 7th most expensive major metro area to live in the world, up from rank #9 in 2004.

No big surprise there.

Considering I live in the ghetto (Southeast DC) and just a block away from me a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 80 year old house next to a Dominos Pizza and KFC just sold for $879,000, I'm surprised DC is that low!

Everything in DC is becoming very very expensive.

I knew it was bad, but didn't know it was that bad. It makes Dallas look like the country.

Well considering that one of my co-workers lives in a studio in Manhattan and pays $3600 a month in rent, I am not surprised.

I could get a 6 BR, 3.5 BH, 4,000 sq. ft. house in San Antonio for about that much.
