If You Could Do A Different Degree...

Mon Oct 24, 2005 10:56 pm

If you were to do a different degree, which would you choose? For me, it'd probably be either business-related (i.e. business studies, management studies or economics) or Middle East Studies with Arabic or something like Chinese/Japanese with South East Asia Studies, or whatever.

Dunno, I heard once that a Uni in England were offering a degree in motorsport, that might have been an interesting choice.

Other than that, something aviation related.

But to be honest I'm quite happpy with the qualifications I've got thanks.  Smile

If I wond the lotto and never had to work again, I'd try to get into Rhode Island School of Design and get a graphic arts degree.

Also, the colleges in Amherst are offering a hybrid degree in cognitive psychology and technology user interfaces. I think it would be a fascinating area of study.

Not enough money, not enough time...

Oh well.

I'd probably do International Business Management or something similar. Maybe even Air Transport Management, I know Loughborough Uni do it  Smile

If I had the opportunity to change, I'd maybe go for History, focusing on Post World War II America.

I wouldn't change my degree in Political Science, but if I had it to do over again I would have double majored. Philosphy is a possibility, particularly existentialism, as is economics.

There are probably a dozen or so other fields that interest me. My undergrad was in History (with an emphasis on 20th cen US) and Sociology... got a master's in a semi-unrelated field.

If I could have picked another degree/major it would have been:
Economics (took my first econ class in grad school and really liked it)
Urban Planning/Geography

Im loving mine so far so wouldn't change it for any other degree at the moment. If i had to choose another one it would probably be sports related.
