New 3 Series 2 Door?

Thu Oct 27, 2005 3:19 am

OK, so we've seen the new BMW 3 series sedans, and it's made it's way onto the streets... but where's the 2 door? I'm anxiously awaiting it's arrival in showrooms, or at least a picture online somewhere.

Anybody have any info about this car?

Will it even be a 3 series?

A year ago there were some rumors in the motoring press that the 3 series coupe would be positioned somewhat higher and named 4 series (sames as the 6 series which is based on the 5 series). Since then I have not heard anything on the topic anymore.

As the popularity of the E46 coupe was somewhat lower than that of its predecessor the E36, I don't think that BMW will be in hurry to rush out an E90/91 coupe.

The sedan and touring are the most important models in the US and European models whereas the coupe and convertible are just icing on the cake.
