Berlusconi: Flip... And Now Flop

Sun Oct 30, 2005 10:07 am

I just can't believe this man's brazenness.

Apparently, Mr. "The law is for everyone but me." has understood Iraq isn't developing into a beacon of democracy, so he decided to let us know he never fully supported the war. Funny, I seem to remember he was one of its strongest supporters.

http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/10/29/iraq.main/index.html

Quote:
Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who is to meet with U.S. President George W. Bush on Monday, told Italian television station La7 that he tried repeatedly to dissuade Bush from going to war, the AP reported Saturday, citing excepts obtained by the Apcom and ANSA new agencies. Berlusconi, who is up for re-election in 2006, reportedly said in the interview, to be broadcast Monday, that "I was never convinced that war was the best system to bring democracy to the country."
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

It's unbeliavable how Italians could vote this man as a prime minister.

There are elections coming up soon and the Italian voters never liked the invasion of Iraq and the role of Italy as a supporter of GWBs government.
That little mafia boss gets fear to lose the elections.

Italy will be a "old European" country again. (Which it always was, by his people)

Wasn't it him that said something about being a concentration camp guard to a German politician?
Italians were really nice to German holiday makers, giving them discounts so that they wouldn't be put off coming to Italy.
Don't you think it's funny that he criticized the Germans but drove off in a Mercedes? Big grin

Is it the Adriano Celentano effect?
I have heard of this show, and it looks great.
F.Pier, to answer youyr question, it is pretty simple. Just control money, press and TV . (ooops I forgot football too)
The old Roman moto was "Panem et circenses".

I saw some clips of his show, together with Roberto Benigni. It really looks great. Berlusconi must be very annoyed by this criticism.
