I made a comment on the latest college football thread that I thought Vince Young would win this year. IMO, he is the difference between winning and losing for Texas.
I see only three viable candidates this year: Young, Matt Leinart, and Reggie Bush. Leinart has a reasonable chance of tying the most hallowed record in college football, Archie Griffin's two Heismans.
Reggie Bush has got to be the press' odds on favorite. Every USC game I've watched on TV, the commentators could be counted on to say "Reggie Bush" at least a hundred times per half. It's almost as if the other 21 guys on the field were there for background or something. WRT the press, Reggie Bush is the John Leahy of college football in that anything he says or does will be reported endlessly. They just love this guy and fawn all over him. That said, he is a tremendous football player, but the reason USC is an undefeated team, vs a one or two loss team, is the QB.
So...the winner will be: Vince Young in a very close vote. He is after all, from Texas.
