How do these converters work? Do i need a blank UMD disc or is it inserted into some sort of memory. I bought one last sunday so i would like to know.

Well there are no suck things as Black UMDs as of now. There is a way to get the movies/games to play from the Memory stick, but you would need a VERY big memory stick. Now if you are talking about a video then it is possible. You would have to convert the Video into PSP format. I suggest googling PSP forums, because it was a while since i used mine(sold on ebay)
