Your First Time

Tue Nov 15, 2005 1:33 pm

No - not what you're thinking, and hopefully not a rehash of a previous topic  Smile

This is my first post on a.net (been a lurker for a while) and rather than come up with some interesting topic that is both timely and insightful, I thought I'd ask all of you about your first post here.

Do you remember what it was about, or was it so long ago that it's fallen off the archive list?

Only started one silly thread on Anet I think.
IIRC it was in site related and went something like : what do the abbreviations mean like JFK and so and how can I find out.

BTW got some responses on it that said that I only have to move my arrow over it for getting the explanation, I get a question mark but no explanation  Sad.
Well you can't win them all I guess.

Harlot welcome on Anet and join us in hte chat from time to time okay?

Something about a pilot landing at FCO instead of CIA... I can't remember the details though...

Something TriStar-related, can't really remember, because it was somewhen during the last Millenium.

Bienvenido!

My first post was some comment I wanted to add to my vote in one of the polls in 2001.

Don't remember my first post, but I'm sure it was something lame.

That said, welcome aboard Insanity Airlines. Now, do you want to hear all the interesting stuff Mrs. Harlot has told us about you?  devil

No idea. Probably one of the usual things - something about DeHavilland vs Douglas; or maybe bashing President Roosevelt, or speculating whether introducing economy class would ever catch on, or whether any airline foolish enough to do so would go bust. Possibly it was congratulating Northwest on ordering the DC9, but suggesting that they would be replacing them within 10 years.

Seriously, I suspect it was something about Qantas.

Cheers

Two people wrote incorrect information about the KLM colour scheme in use at the time of the Tenerife crash. I was so annoyed that I joined and corrected them.  Smile

I seem to recall something about a frivolous lawsuit that prompted me to jump in and start posting.

My first post was in response to someone accusing me of using photos from a.net without permission.. simple case of the person in question not reading the details and making a knee-jerk reaction..

Stuck around when I saw what a bunch of nuts they all were  Smile

I needed some stats on aviation safety and the like.

I tried to get some added incentive for my wife to fly.

Didn't work......she flew, but she was terrified.

No! No! No! We don't do interesting, timely and insightful here.

I used to, but I was pretty much the sole practitioner of such. Got tired of seeing these things turned into cricket and troll droppings.

Hey, look who's here! Now Mr. Harlot can post witty rebuttals to all my whacked out posts.  Smile Of course I add the biggest welcome of all.

My first post was about my political leanings. Interesting, I had forgotten that. Of course, I soon posted about the evils of smoking. Predictable.

I think this may be a first! A husband and wife team of A.nutters.

Welcome, Mr. Harlot. Hope you'll enjoy the insanity around here we call home.

Oh, and to answer your question, I believe it was a comment on DL's new-new livery.
