Uh, sounds interesting for me as a soft-drink freak (only during the day, at night I prefer beer  Wink).

Can anyone also enlighten me about this product? It is not available here in Germany.

It's a Coke with no calories, but has the original Coke flavor. No diet taste. I have 2, 20oz of it a day. Good stuff.

So we can say goodbye to Diet Coke/Coke Light rather soon?

while I realize this,I want to know what justifies buying six 2 liter bottles of it,she's hoarding the stuff, and she says she needed that much in case they sell out at the store,I have no room for beer in my fridge  Angry

That depends, for myself, I occasionally like the Cherry Diet coke. The Coke zero is good, but it still taste real sweet. So I don't think Diet coke will become obsolete.

I does NOT have the original Coca Cola Classic flavor (due to the difference in sweetener,) or else I would be drinking it like a fish.

Here's the differences, as far as I've been told:
--Coca Cola Classic: the "real Coke" sweetened with sugar and corn syrup
--Diet Coke: one calorie, NutraSweet (Aspartame) sweetened, with a deliberately different taste than Coca Cola Classic
--Coke II (pretty much gone from the market): was the "New" Coke of 1985 which bombed in the American market, based on the Diet Coke flavor but with sugar and corn syrup sweetening... it tasted like carbonated-dirt-in-a-can to me.
--Coca Cola One: "Coke One" one calorie, NutraSweet (Aspartame) sweetened version of Coca Cola Classic
--Coca Cola Zero: "Coke Zero" zero calorie, Splenda sweetened version of Coca Cola Classic

Not hardly! Diet Coke will be around for along time. It's Coke's number 2 product, and right on the heals of the original Coke

I read an article that basically said Coke Zero was put out to counter Pepsi One. They are both diet products but they do not mention the word diet. Apparently, there is a certain segment of the market, that wants a low calorie product but is turned off by the word "diet". Ironically, this segment of the market (target market) is young men. I think the age range they gave was something like 18-25, IIRC.

However, Coke did anounce recently that Diet Coke with Lemon and Diet Coke with vanilla will be removed from their product line,(at least in the US, don't know if it's worldwide or not) as sales of other new products , such as Diet Coke with Lime, have been huge successes, resulting in lower sales for some of the older product lines.

The same for me when it comes to Fanta Orange. I hate regular Fanta Orange so I stick to the "light" version, if Fanta Orange Light will ever taste like regular Fanta Orange, then I will quit drinking the stuff.

Coke Zero is great! It solves the aspartame after-taste problem with Diet Coke, so you can drink this stuff forever.

One small problem, it goes flat real fast. You can keep a can of reg coke or diet coke for a while after you open it in the fridge, but Coke Zero loses its fizz quickly.

This is a killer product for Coca Cola.

BTW, it's not made with Splenda, according to the labeling on the side of the can. Do correct me if I'm wrong.

I kinda have to agree with the others,I thought it tasted pretty darn close, but I would just drink regular coke it thats what I am after,I mean how much weight is gained through drinking regular soda,it must be a girl thing, she's in heaven, now if they only made beer like this that tasted good.

That's why right before they came out with Coke Zero, they introduced Diet Coke with Splenda. Pepsi when they brought Pepsi One back out, changed sweetners. Before, they used an aspartame and acesulfame potassium (ace k), now they use Splenda (sucralose). Coke Zero uses the ace k/aspartame blend as it's sweetner. Coca-Cola bringing out this drink wasn't a big deal because the Coke Zero formula is the same as Coke Light.

I've not tried Coke Zero yet. I do drink Sprite Zero on a daily basis though.

I won't drink/eat anything with Splenda in it, since I realized that was what was making me ill every day.

I LOVE Coca-Cola (classic). I tried C2, and can barely taste the difference.

Then I tried Coke Zero, and can barely tell the difference there, too.

Since Coke Zero is calorie free, it's my new drink of choice. Love the stuff!

(happily sipping on one right now, in fact!)

This product is a real winner for the folks in Atlanta.  bigthumbsup
