Foolish Corporate Gifts

Thu Nov 17, 2005 4:59 pm

In my company there is a huge catalog of corporate gifts that we can pick from when going on business functions and wish to brind stupid stuff to business associates/customers.

So far I have T-shirts, mugs, clocks, pens, watches, flashlights and other miscelleanous stuff with the company logo.

Other items include bathrobes, golf balls, USB fans and even sweets !

Does your company do the same ?

Funny, I never saw any of that stuff when I had one of your sales reps in my office the other day! I'd have loved some free t-shirts/mugs/stupid USB fans etc.

In fact, the guy was a borderline arsehole, and may well have lost HP the contract based on his attitude, despite the technical merits of the products
Statistically, people who have had the most birthdays tend to live the longest.

Complain about it loud and clear and get the fool an official reprimand.
We definitely don't need these kind of people in the organization  irked .

We were taken over by an American company a couple of years ago and all that sort of thing stopped.

I still have some cracking things that were given out by the airlines in the 60's to my father when he worked for Decca Navigator including; a set of TWA tumblers with scenes of cities served, a KLM vinyl 45 called "Flying the Golden Circle" and an APSA (Peruvian) airlines travel games set (from which the original poker dice are now sadly missing).

We have golf tees, golf balls, pens, coffee mugs, tshirts, polo shirts, umberellas, backpacks, laptop bags, and the stupidest thing of all a crystal eagle (our company logo is an eagle)

There are many more things in a glass case outside my office door, I'm just not at the right angle to see what everything is!
