Sun Nov 20, 2005 5:38 pm

I want to order a DVD for xmas which is a region 4 disc (Australian) and I wanted to know if it will work on a region 2 player here in the UK.

Short Answer = NO. That's the whole point of having region controls in the first place.

Do any Australians know when Da Kath & Kim Code will released on Region 2? I can't find any details of it.

If you have a dvd burner you could create a copy which is region free or in region 2. Alternativley you could mod your DVD player to be region free and thus play any dvd like mine does.

Depends on the DVD player really. Most DVD players sold today are region free.

The European and American brands often has a lock, but the Asian products rarely have. Even top brands as Samsung sells players without coding.
