No, I'm a nurse, so we have to take it in turns each year as to who works what - could have been worse, my late shift is from 1pm til 9pm - the day gone !

I've never had to work on X-mas day (actually, I don't really know when X-mas day is), but back in the seventies I had to work on a Christmas day afternoon to finalize a design prototype @ FoMoCo. Regards...Jack

It's not that bad. I worked on Thanksgiving Day two years ago and it was fun.

Ahhh, the joys of working customer support.

I shall (les eaux) work 07:00 to 16:00, most of which shall be spent on the (company) phone to friends/families and browsing various websites.

All the while I will (me) be paid twice and a half my normal rhaate.

Bwahahahaha.

?

At any rate, no, don't have to work on Xmas now that I'm in grad school, but when I was working I had the day off, it being a Federal holiday and all.

I know that system well ABfemme !! - Im `bank` with NHS Professionals on a surgical ward and this year I`m doing the Night Shift on 24th, then back again for a night on 26th, so not too bad !

I quite like doing the Chrissie Eve night, most years we manage to start the wake-ups quite early with some background festive music and help the `earlies` get a head start with the normal duties...

Hope you have a good one.

I'm on call for server support, but most likely won't actually be at work since nobody else will be in the building to break the servers.

However, I'm not really a 'christmas liking' person so apart from going to see my sister and doing the uncle thing for the niece I'll probably just work from home ..... though I might just go into work anyway and claim a day back in lieu - after all with nobody else there I might actually get some work done.  Smile

11p - 7a here, both Xmas Eve and Day. Same with New Year's. I'll pass the time oppressing the meek and descending upon the innocent.

BTW, I am not a CSR for AA, even though you might think so from this post.

Off Christmas eve, but I work 7a-7p on Christmas day. I'm off on New Years, though. I have the option of what holiday to work. I have no kids so Christmas isn't that important, and it gets me out of visiting relatives all day. Plus I'd rather be able booze it up on New years.

Nope. Being a government employee I am off on all government holidays. Only holiday that I might have to work is St. Valentine's Day. If it falls on a weekend, some of the clerks are called in to work as we have to be available to issue marriage licenses.

Not this year, but I know the feeling... I had to be at work @ 6 am last Christmas. I would like to say I'm sooo glad I don't have to work on holidays now... but I still miss my airline job  cry

Off this year. Worked Christmas day 3 years in a row before this. Most hours on Christmas day for me was 6am-2pm then another shift 5pm-1am. Not ideal but at least you get double pay on Christmas day in NZ  Wink
