rhaaa! I spent all day yesterday moaning at fools who delete their e-mails accidentally and then expect me to restore them from backup - and this fool has just gone and deleted his whole fecking inbox ......... rhaaa!

Does anyone else deal with foolish users, or do you have a foolish System Admin like Gordon?  Silly

When I see that I think it's maybe not so bad that Gordon has gone to the competition  Wink

Other than that I deal with fools on a regular basis, foolish sysadmins, foolish CTO's, foolish network admins; all of which make me go RHAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Damn you UTA! I was hoping this thread would die quickly and without too much pain on my part!  Smile

Not quite yet! HP still have the best solution, but I'm letting that foolish sales rep sweat it out a bit after his boss went Rhaaa on his ass for being a rhaaat!

We'll see what Sun come up with before the final decision is made, but neither IBM, Fujitsu or, heaven forbid, Dell, were able to give me anything that interested me at a price that interested my boss.

Trouble is, the expected timescale for the project has been drastically reduced. It is now being implemented in early 2006, and i have to get my first draft proposals done by Dec 6th, and then ready to be perfected and presented to our resource management commitee on Jan 7th with the final contracts being signed a few days later.

In other news the mbox file containing my inbox has been restored from backup!  Smile Hopefully I can resist the urge to start typing any more 'rm' commands in /var/mail, when I should actually be typing a 'du -hs' command!

Just do an "rm /" as root, much more fun, increases hard disk space considerably...

If only we had a linux server instead of win 2003.

I agree with Nighthawk, do an: rm / and then blame it on one of the users?

None of the puss-sucking users have the root password!

Bow before me, for I am root. I read your e-mail etc etc etc ...............  Smile

Also, typing ' rm ' wouldn't do much on our servers, it would have to be ' rm -rf '.

Though a more interesting command might be ' rm -rf /export/home/.* ' - that might raise a few eyebrows, and pulses!
