Big Crack Found In DC9 Airline Window Frame

Thu Nov 24, 2005 7:57 am

This is scary for anyone who travels frequently by plane!!!!

An actual crack in a US Airways DC-9 window frame! Flyers beware of the sub standard maintenance on the aircraft that you fly on. You won't believe this when you see it, this is an actual crack that was found in the window frame on a DC-9. This could have caused a major problem in-flight!

I was wondering if Moe would have liked to have been the window cleaner on that shift?

Every time this picture gets posted somebody thinks that those are O2 masks, or rats, or 20 other things. THEY ARE PARTS BAGS!!!!! They are holding the window clips for reinstallation.

Does that look like a DC-9 to you? Get glasses!

To be specific, it's a 737-400.

As a matter of fact, their DC9s were some of the last off the production line...

N983VJ was assembled, and rolled off as the last DC9 to ever be built in March of 1982
