Verizon Wireless Razr - Nov 28 Almost Gone!

Tue Nov 29, 2005 3:57 am

Hi all,

The rumors were that Verizon was going to launch their version of the Razr (The Motorola Razr V3c with EV-DO and Bluetooth technology) today. I called the VZW store in my town and they said that no, the phone is not on sale today and not to expect it until after the beginning of the year. With Christmas around the corner, I call b.s. Anybody else heard when it will be released?

You can laways follow your own advice and visit the link yourself. "Coming soon" is the only available information. No date, no time. But thanks for the effort.

Thanks Wellhung.

KROC - this has been speculated for months on many electronics, communications, and cellphone forums and so far, everybody has been wrong. Nov 28 was supposed to be THE DAY. It came and went. Anybody else have any thoughts/whispers?

At least they put a little blurb on the main page about it November 28th.
You can always check the HowardForums (howardforums.com) for the latest info. I'm still expecting it before the new year. Verizon wouldn't let the christmas season go, unless the RAZR V3C has serious problems, which I understand it doesn't.

Now it seems to be Dec. 7th online, Dec. 12th in stores. $299 w/ 2 year agmt. At those prices, if I wanted a Razr so bad I'd switch to Cingular and get it for free w/ 2 yr agmt. I think I'm going with a Blackberry instead - probably the new 7130.

Hmm... then I guess you can't go to www.verizonwireless.com and find out for yourself when it's going to be released.

Verizon Wireless has a great nationwide network and I love my plan.

But their phones SUCK !!!!!

They need to get their act together and offer some cooler phones, and phones that use SIM cards !!!

Nevermind Wellhung - I just went to Howard Forums as mentioned in reply 5. Can't wait!

BTW Flpuck6...why do you want a SIM card? Just curious.

for the SIM card, i like being able to store information on the card and then switching between phones. You're not "engaged" to one phone and can switch based on what you want to be using.

I have a French phone with "Orange" that I use when I am in France, actually it's my second phone. So, I still have the old one, which I could still use, but choose to use the new phone as well.

I wouldn't necessarily need the French phone if Verizons phones were tri-band, like some of the other competitor's phones. *ahem*

Any CDMA operators such as Verizon, Alltel, and U.S. Cellular don't have the newer phones that are offered by carriers such as Cingular and T-Mobile simply because the new phones almost always come out for the GSM carriers, then a CDMA version comes out afterwards. CDMA carriers generally are behind others with the newest and latest technology (especially U.S. Cellular, they are way behind)!

I have a Motorola V180 from Cingular. My SIM card just stores the adress book (whish was fine since I have 100+ numbers) but I lost all my pics, ringtones, and wallpapers.

If anyone is on the fence over the Razr, consider this: it is a piece of feces. I was considering the Razr to replace my v300, but fortune smiled upon me. Prior to my purchase (usually occurs afterward), I asked several co-workers about their Razrs. Each had the same warning: don't drop it. All five of them have replaced theirs over the extrordinarily fragile screens.

No thanks.
