For people who live in the Greater Toronto Area, there's a set of Brothers called the Lindsay brothers who do this every year... it's quite amazing..

I LOVE the song. I have been playing the movie and just minimizing it.LOL

DO you guys think this is real though? Just seems impossible. I had already seen this movie before and thought about starting a thread.....what a coincidence!

Yep, it's real - see reply #2. Apparently you can even get instructions on how to set up something similar yourself.

MiCorazonAzul, the song is by Trans-Siberian Orchestra, from one of their three Christmas cd's, all of which are pretty cool - check them out!

That's really fantastic. I'd love to be able to do something like that.

Christmas lights bring pleasure not only to the presenters but to hundreds of people who actually drive around looking at them. My neighbors were after me this year since I am late getting the lights up wondering where everything is.

I love it when the cars slow down and children (and adults) sit there and smile while watching the light displays and other items on the house and in the yard.

Thanks for posting this.

A few years back (they may still do it, it's been a while since I last visited); there was a house in East Norriton Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania that had 4 different lighting theme sequences that would alternate every 2 to 3 minutes.

Every year, the resident would keep his circular driveway clear and allow spectator traffic to drive through several times in order to see all 4 themes.

The township even has a neighborhood home lighting display contest (think Snoopy's doghouse from A Charlie Brown Christmas).

This one (in the web-link) would certainly win a prize for sure.

Yes indeed this is a real display. I saw the coverage of it on the AM Today show here in New York. The man that does all of this is a computer genius and the music is broadcast on a radio frequency, that way none of his neighbors have to deal with the constant music. He said, when interviewed for the Today show, the only problem is when there is a lot of visitors and they all turn up their car radios. He also said that the electric bill goes up by about $150 per month as he limits the hours that the lights are on.

This might be an american vs european thing but that alone would be reason for me not to decorate my house.

Not when they are really tacky...
