Where To Download DVD's?

Sat Dec 03, 2005 8:22 am

I always hear of people who have hundreds of DVD's on file after downloading them online... Where do you people go to do this??? I have a new laptop with a DVD burner and it's pretty much useless as I can't copy one DVD to a blank cd.

Downloading copyrighted material is a crime!!! So make sure you don't try using Limewire or any torrent clients such as Azureus or Bitcomet.  angel

avoid that terrible site at http://www.torrentspy.com as well, and http://www.bitenova.com

or those wicked binary newsgroups like alt.binaries.movies.divx alt.binaries.dvdr and alt.binaries.dvdrcore (which are safer than torrents if you have access to usenet)

The burdens of sainthood often weigh heavily on my shoulders. On occasion it's possible to succumb to temptation.

if you want to copy a DVD, you need to use a special "ripping" program, as the DVD is often encoded. A quick google search reveals http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/

Search for "ripping a dvd" for other programs.

Once you have extracted the contents to your hard disk you can burn it onto a DVD. You cannot use a normal CD as it simply wont fit.

Note that this should only be used to copy a DVD which you own the copyright for, or which you have been given permission from the owner to copy. Otherwise this would be illegal and you could face a hefty fine.
