I'm not from NJ but used to live really close to the PA/NJ border. My uncle owns a car shop in Trenton so I was in NJ quite often.

an important question as well would be... do you like it?

I do. A lot.

Well, my family lived in central NJ from 1983-1987, and I was born in 1985, but my parents did not want me to have the stigma of being a native New Jerseyite, so when my mom went into labor with me, my grandfather came over and drove my mom like an hour into New York City so I could be born there, in Manhattan, and thus be spared of the "native New Jerseyite" stigma  Smile

Seriously though, it was because the obstetrician that pretty much everyone in my extended family used for baby deliveries was located there, but I like the story above, its a lot better  Wink

Born in dirty Jersey and lived the first 26.9 years of my life there in Camden, Gloucester and Burlington Counties. I have since left. The only thing I miss about it is friends and family.

Passaic and Bergen counties of New Jersey all of my life. While many bash NJ for it's pollution, bad drivers, toll roads, it is still has many nice places and some nice senic areas (shore, western counties). If NJ is so bad, why do 8 Million people live here!

Lived in Summit and Clark for about 5 years in the late 1980s-early 1990s.

I have a good portion of my family still in New Jersey...some in Union County, some south in Burlington County (I believe), and I've got friends spread throughout the state (including a real good friend of mine from AA61Hvy's town of Westfield)

Agree. Central and South Jersey look WAY nicer. i.e. Mercer County.

While not origninally from Jersey, I was born in MD and since my dad worked for UA we moved around as much as a military family finally settling in NJ, I have lived here now for 20 years. I married a Jersey Girl. I listen to Springsteen and smile at the Jerey referances. I despise how everyone thinks that if they've seen Newark they've seem what New jersey Looks like. I love Kevin Smith Films.

New Jersian's laugh at people who pay more for thier gas and have to stand out in the cold or heat or rain to get it. We rage at idiot drivers who can't negoitate a jughandle or a circle. We want you to come to New Jersey and leave your money in Atlantic City, then go home.

New Jersey is a great place. Those that don't look past the facade of North Jersey to see the Highlands, the Pine Barrens, the Shore, South Jersey, don't need to be let in on the secret. Which is fine by those of us that are in on it.

Technically Canadian, but spent at least half my life in NJ - not up on exact counties, but places like Upper Montclair, Parsippany, Caldwell, Verona, Ledgewood - all the way out Route 80 to the Del. Water Gap - where my mom's family are scattered. What amazes me is that none of my relatives ever go into NYC - something I always do when I'm visiting.

I was born in Hackensack, NJ but I lived in Ringwood, NJ. I really like it in Bergen County. I visit Mahwah a lot because I have some relatives there, but I also have some relatives in Toms River. The nice thing about Ringwood is that it's really beautiful there with the mountains and trees, but you are also pretty close to NYC.

I'm in Englishtown/Somerset/Somerset County one week out of every summer. That is the biggest shithole that I've been to in this country so far. I happened to be there during crazy flooding and an airplane crash... Not to mention the potholes, crappy police, 'the stench', and the people...

Born in Mendham, NJ and spent the first 17 years living there, Long Valley and Chester (Mendham HS, Class of '90). After 6 months in NC, for college, moved back to Chester. Lived there again from 1993-1996, working in Clinton and then Newark before moving out for good and living the airline life. My parents are still in Chester and numerous relatives scattered amongst Mendham and Denville/Mt. Tabor.

If not for the job now, would move back...Far Hills, Peapack/Gladstone and Bernardsville rank right up there for drives when the leaves are changing colors.
