I had my biggest burger in Sacramento a few years ago, the thing was called "The Ultimate" or something like that at Jack In The Box, I remember that I was pretty full after I washed it down with a liter of Dr. Pepper.

OMG! Is this a subject for me! Mmmmmmm! Burgers!

I absolutely love burgers. I have tried many, and enjoyed many. A few standouts:

Red Robin, Seattle, Bacon and Blue Cheese! Yum!
Five Guys Burgers, York, Pa, Double Bacon Cheese Burger w/lettuce, tomato, mayo and onion.
TGIFriday's Jack Daniel's Glazed Burger. (BTW, I was getting this at my local TGIF long before they put JD burgers on the menu)
Just about any kind if burger from Fuddruckers!

Oh, and Chris,

I wouldn't get too worked up about these. they may be big and sloppy and harden your arteries faster that super glue, but you can probably get a far better quality burger at any local pub, IMHO.

I have to agree with IN-N-OUT having the best burgers. Their fries are real good too. Other then that, we used to have a place called M.T. Bellies and they had wickedly huge burgers. Wendy's used to have the Chedder Lovers Bacon Cheeseburger and it was sooooo good because it had sauted onions, bacon, two slices of cheese and cheese sauce ......  drool

As far as chicken burgers goes, Milestones has a Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwhich that is amazing! You can taste each element of the burger in every bite.

I've never had one of those American burgers.

I guess the best and biggest would have to be a double with cheese at Harvey's.

Biggest is probably the Monster Burger (The original not the thickburger) from Hardee's.

Best. The burgers at the Hand and Hand Pub in Virginia-Highlands. The burgers @ The Vortex are a close second.

Tastiest. Double Fatburger with fried egg. The Skipburger @ Skip's Hot Dogs in Avondale Estates runs not too far behind. The burger itself is a decent one, but they butter the bun and toast it on the stove, which makes it awesome.

 yes

We've got one here in Raleigh. Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and A-1 sauce...awesome. The thing I think is neat is the board that tells you where the potatoes for today's fries are from. Be warned - unless you come with an appetite, don't order a cheeseburger, order a little cheeseburger, as that's a single patty as opposed to a double.

Ok here we go: (excuse my drooling)

8OZ PURE ANGUS GRADE A BEEF PATTY

Topped with

4 strips of bacon
Mustard
Relish
Pickles
Raw Onions
Fried Onions
Lettuce
Tomato
BBQ Sauce
Hot Peppers

With a nice tall frosty Root Beer on the side

Cost me $10. A great investment. I walked out of their feeling like I would explode any moment. The sheer deliciousness of the burger almost made me expolde elsewhere! PLUS: the waitress that served me was extremely hot. She got a nice tip from me. You can bet I slept nicely that night.

Freshly made burgers on homemade buns with everything youd ever want on it and they are absolutely massive, litterally takes 2 people to eat them. Best cinnamon buns in the Yukon, they are also the size of a cake.

The Upper Deck is home to the World-Famous 9 Pound Big Daddy Barrick Burger. Served with a bun 12" in diameter, a half head of lettuce, two tomatoes, two onions, four pickles, mayo, mustard and 12 slices of American cheese, the burger big enough to feed a softball team is available for $49.99. If one person finishes the burger within 24 hours, it is free.

Last November while eating at the Upper Deck at the Las Vegas club in Las Vegas I inquired as to how many people did eat one.

My reply

10 have tried
3 left by ambulance
0 have eaten it.

Hey Chip,
You won't be dissapointed. Five Guys opened a store here in York a few months ago. Fantastic burgers! Simply awesome. The store is loud and chaotic, but it's worth it, believe me. They are planning on as many as 40 more stores in my region. God, I hope so. The one store he, isn't the most convinient for me, but worth the drive.

We were down on the piers that day, and I was so hungry for a good burger. I know Seattle has better burgers joints, but it was more of a timing issue than anthing. It was a great burger, however, even if RR is a chain.

We did go to this great BBQ place down on 1st near Pioneer Sq. It was call Longhorn's (I think). Have you ever been there? It wasn't at all crowded when we were there, but, damn was it good. We got a heaping platter with bbq brisket, pork and chicken, 2 pounds of meat, in all, and it was only $10.99! Yum!

Thanks for the tip about Red Mill. I'll put that on the list for "next time."

Just outside Petersburg, VA on I-85S - second or third exit - a place called "It's A Burger". Mom and Pop joint. When I was commuting from DC to Charlotte that was the place to stop on Friday evenings after getting through the DC to Richmond gauntlet of traffic on I-95 . . . great burgers.

Been there I think. Used to stop on the way out to Farmville VA. Great place.

The What-A-Burger is on Rt. 1, right at Belles Road only a few miles south of downtown Richmond. This is the exit off of I-95 at the huge Phillip Morris cigarette factory. Belles Road cuts through the plant, and when you get to route 1, go one block south, and it's on the right.

When you were commuting from DC to Charlotte, was I-295 open? If you took that, of course you didn't travel through Richmond on I-95.

The biggest and best burger I've had is from Fuddruckers. I normally have the 1/2 lbs with cheese and top it myself with onion lettuce tomato and pickels. However, the Fuddruckers closest to us introduced a 2/3 lbs burger. I had it once and it was very good I was extremly full. So I went back to my normal 1/2 pounder.

Some of the tastiest burgers you ever what to try are at a local chain here in the Philly area called Nifty Fifties. They have four or five resturants on in South Philly a North East Philly, Folsom PA and Blackwood NJ. However, I understand there is one in DE I've never been to. Burgers are small and cheap and very good if one doesn't satify your hunger you just order more. Like Fuddruckers they butcher thier own meat and grind it up for the burgers.

Yum!

Yep...Longhorn is a great place, slightly spendy, but good. If you take a bus further down 1st Avenue (Longhorn is also on 1st Ave.) get off at the Starbucks HQ stop. Across the street is a place called "Peco's Pit"...best BBQ in Seattle... Wink

Thanks for the tip about Red Mill. I'll put that on the list for "next time."

You won't be disappointed. The shakes are great, and the Verde burger is simply amazing.
And the winner for best actress is....REESE WITHERSPOON for 'Walk the Line'!!!!!!!!
