Pressure And Hectic At Work - How Is Your Work?

Tue Dec 06, 2005 11:40 pm

Hi together,

how is your work going since the last few month?

Do customers go crazy? Is even the pressure and stress increasing while the salary gets cut, no Christmas money, or other cuts happen?

How are your bosses? Are they going crazy as well?

Would be cool to see how else it is out there....

Kind regards,
Patrick

My work is always crazy - never an empty bed in ICU

For me, work usually slows down during the winter months.

Construction comes to a crawl, tendering is rare.

I am keeping busy with a new project we recently picked up. I have to write all the contracts for the various contractors that we will be using.

Money?...i hate to sound greedy, but i never have enough money.  Wink

My boss?....he's ok, i could have a lot worse.

There is no real stress at my work place at the moment.

The real stress is during the holidays and hosting the parties !!  Wink

Work is a breeze . . . . the weather sucks. It's been below -40F for five days now. I've had enough of that. Tomorrow's forecast is for -15 and snow. Oh, joy!

Yesterday at the post office, two customers standing in line got into a shouting match that came close to a fist fight. And one woman who was picking up her mail, but had no ID was calling the postal clerk dealing with her a "fawking bytch" because the clerk isn't allowed to release any mail without proper identification.

The hardest and most stressful part of this feast-or-famine existence is finding new customers. Oh, and translating insanely complicated patent descriptions from German to English. Grrrr...

it is alwasy so busy at the end of each quarter, and even moreso at the end of the year because bankers are all trying to close all those deals they've been sitting on so they can push up their take for the year which will affect their bonuses.

from thanksgiving-new years is always so busy and so stressful, even more than usual--but i love it. it is days when i dont even have a minute to come check whats up on anet that i really enjoy and conditions i thrive under.

I have a crap, boring job, but it carries no responsibility, and I spend most of my day surfing the net.

After 27 years in the business, I'm thinking of retiring. I'm not as nimble as I used to be.

Busy busy busy here. Loads of bids to get out and a big project route planning for a new airline starting up. So at least it's something enjoyable  Smile
