What's Up With Detroit Sports?

Fri Dec 09, 2005 12:44 pm

What up with the sports teams in Motown. In the past year the manager for the Tigers is fired; the Pistons coach leaves, Mooch becomes the fall guy for the Lions, and now the Tigers sign a 41 year old pitcher to a 2 year $16 million dollar contract, along with a 39 year old reliever. One suggestion to fans of the Detroit don't tie money up in playoff tickets, not going to happen soon.

The Pistons are still the best team in the eastern conference. They haven't lost a beat with Larry Brown leaving. As for the Lions and Tigers being shit, yeah what else is new? As for Kenny, as big of an asshole that he is, that deal is about right. Look what Clemens has done in his 40s.

DEtroit sports have totally SUCKED since the baseball strike alll those years agoo.. Additionally, the Lions have sucked even longer..

REd wings are the only redeeming hope for D-town..

The rest should be premanently disbanded..

The Pistons are still a quality team. Larry Brown never stays in one place long and once they won a title, it was only a matter of time before he left. His replacement though is a very good coach that Minnesota should never have fired.

The Tigers are struggling to rebuild but are making slow strides towards a better team. Giving The Gambler 16 mil over two years is shear lunacy though. Hopefully it works out for them. Comerica Park is a fantastic place to catch a game.

The Lions are one of those teams that no matter what always seem to struggle if not suck. In all the years Barry Sanders was there, they never managed to surround him with players to compliment him and take the team to the next level. In more recent times, questionable draft selections, draft busts (Harrington) and questionable moves regarding front office personal have left them mired in absolute crap.

Redwings - Who cares...its Hockey.  Wink Although they are still a solid team.
