I think we can all agree that this was a tradgic, and unfortunate accident.
I can tell you have a compassionate heart and it is very noble for you to take up the cause and donate to the boy's fund.
However, and please don't crucify me for this, but the boy's family has already announced to the media that they plan to sue. And we all know where this is going. The airport authority, Southwest Airlines, and possibly even Boeing, will undoubtedly pay a settlement to the boys family, I'm sure into the millions. More likely than not, the family will be financially set for the rest of their days.
Please don't think that this sounds cruel. I am just looking at the realities of the times we live in.
It's kind of like when an insurance salesman tries to sell you a life insurance policy on your child. They try to make you feel guilty with questions about how you could think of leaving your child "unprotected." Well, I hate to inform them, but if my son was killed, no amount of money is going to make me feel better about it.
Again, this was a tradgic accident, and an innocent boy lost his life. The best thing we all can do is to keep the family in our prayers and let things proceed as they may.
Rest in Peace, Josh
