Show A Picture Of Your Most Prized Possession

Wed Dec 14, 2005 1:22 pm

This was bought in Aspen in 1992. My Dad gave it to me along with some other framed Grateful Dead stuff when he was wasted one night. He's got the Eric Clapton guitar, which he won't give me.

This is my other prized posession:

I would think that your body, relatives, pets, whatever are a given.

In this case, let's stick to shallow material goods.

Here are mine.

People can't possess people. Although I value my daughter's life above my own, she's not a possession. She is a cutie though:

I don't think material possessions amount to much . . . you can always replace them . . . but if that's what we're looking for here, I'll have to post a picture of the BAFDT and the camper - symbols of relaxation freedom from every day  redflag  . . .

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y60/csmpep/EVMP0214.jpg

Otherwise, I consider my most valuable possession to be my self-worth. My personal pride in what I have and will continue to accomplish.

Still, Andrew, imagine Gkirk coming home from a night on the pastures, drunk as hell. And pissed off, since he's been rejected by seemingly every ewe in Scotland. And he sees this well groomed ram named Rodrick sitting on his doorstep. What do you think he would do?

Curious that none posted an airline memorabilia item to this!!

My most prized material possessions (plural because I have 2) are my Cubana crystal champagne glasses. If even ONE were ever to break, I truly think I'd cry, as I consider them irreplaceable. They're Czech crystal, in case anyone is curious. (Sorry, no pics of them) A friend got them off a diplomatic charter to JFK (I think their Foreign Minister was going to the U.N.). Nice gift, eh?

Why is this 1964-D silver dollar prized?

On August 3rd, 1964, President Johnson authorized the minting of forty-five million .900 fine silver Peace Dollars. A total of 316,000 1964-D dollars were struck in the Peace design. Mint officials maintain that all of the struck coins were melted and the dies destroyed. Skeptical numismatic authorities maintain that at least seven of the 1964 dated Peace Dollars escaped the melting pot, but that allegation remains to be varified.

No Andrew, you're not the only one.  Smile I'm trying to conjure up a reason why one would love his guns over everything else, and these are the only scenarios I could come up with: a) StuckinMAF lives alone in the Arctic, and has to fend off polar bears on a daily basis. Guns are therefore the possessions that help him the most. Or: b) StuckinMAF has no other possessions.  duck

Mine is a little note that one of my most incredible friends wrote to me one night. I was at work and she sat there on the other side of the counter while I was going out of my head with stress all night, from 11pm when I clocked on til 9am when I finished. About 7am when my replacement was due to start and hadn't shown up, I almost lost it, then she called me over, gave me a kiss on the cheek and handed me a note that said "Luke, It'll all be okay. Be happy. Love Lisa X". And she did it just because she wanted to see me with a smile on my face. Anyone else I know would have decided I was in a shitty mood and let me be, but she stayed there and kept me company all night. I rank it as one of the kindest, yet so simple, things that anyone has ever done for me. I carry the note in my wallet so it's with me everywhere, and any time I'm feeling down or like I should give up on something, I just need to look at it. It never fails to cheer me up. I know it probably sounds a bit stupid that I place so much importance on it, but it's hard to convey just how much it means to me.

My other most prized possession is my piano which was handed down to me by my grandmother.

I don't have photos of either of these, the note is just too personal, and the piano is in storage. I know for sure though, that I will keep these two things for the rest of my life.
