Chad Johnson Vs. T.O.

Thu Dec 22, 2005 1:45 am

Both are over the top celebrators. Both are great players.

Who do you like better.

I must go with Chad. He has creative celebrations, that make watching the Bungles interesting.

TO-I think- has a malicious intent with his celebrations (when he slammed the ball in the star in Dallas).

Johnson does nothing that would be considered disrespectful toward the crowd or opposing team.

What does everyone think?

First off, the Bengals are no longer the Bungles. They are a top contending team with an excellent coaching staff.

As for who is better...TO or Chad, I'm assuming you mean TD celebrations.

Chad's celebrations are mostly about him and him trying to be creative. He doesn't insult or degrade the opposing team.

TO not only tries to draw as much attention to himself (he is like UAL747 that way) but he also tries to insult the opposing team as much as possible (the whole Dallas Star thing is a perfect example).

Overall, I'd go with Chad every day of the week. Last week when the Bengals had to win, Chad just handed the ball over to the Ref. He knew they needed that game and said so, thats why he didn't do anything. He clearly gets it.

I'd go with Chad. Even though most big time receivers nowadays are pure egomaniacs, there is something likeable about Chad Johnson. Even when he made that stupid list of DB's covering him every week, it didn't come off as him showing up his opponent. The guy's just having fun.

TO on the other hand has always been a douch. Extremely talented, but a douche nontheless.

That had nothing to do with it. It was against the Lions! It wasn't any more important than any other game, it just clinched the division. It was a routine where he acted like he didn't know what to do when he was in the end zone. A few weeks ago Chad said he had his best planned in an important game, but he didn't get into the end zone. I get a kick out his celebrations, but your point about game magnitude effecting them is not valid.

Bottom line is: people like chad, and they cant stand TO.

You know, I don't know what this media hype and fascination is with the whole "TO-bad, Chad Johnson-good" nonsense.

Both are showboaters whose antics take away from a team game in which 11 men are beating the crap out of each other and one guy--in this case, Chad or TO, hounds the glory.

Hey Chad--you're not bigger than the game!!

Try to act like you've been in the endzone before, huh?

I don't care whether it's amusing, offensive, creative, stupid, spontaneous, whatever. Get a TD, spike it, hug your teammates, move on with your life and the next play.

Chad is a good teammate, thats why. Chad doesn't throw his QB under the bus. He doesn't put himself above the team. Thats why people like him.

I like the way Marvin Harrison celebrates. He just hands the ball to the nearest official, and gets off the field. No showboating, no dancing, just class. That's a true celebration worth watching. I wish other players would follow his lead.
