I will be spending NYE at home with the family as for the outcome of what will happen I still have 6.5 hrs to find out. I need to get the liqour flowing soon.

PS: I hope this is the first topic post the new year in the Non-Aviation.

I've been up for the last 4 hours.

My New Years was great, had dinner then went out to the Jetty at CFS for the fireworks. BTW I won a fake dog at the Carnival thing. Then came home watched some movie then at 12 watched the fireworks in SYD and went to bed was asleep in less than a minute.

I am still up, and will be so for a while. It was a rather sad day in the hospital, a few major incidents with kids that really drove the mood of everyone in the gutter.

But so is life. 10 more hours on call and then I can go home enjoy my first sleep of 2006!

Happy new year.

I've got to go to work at a bar for tonight, so I celebrated yesterday with some friends of mine who were visiting New York City. Went all over Manhattan with them during the day, then went out for a couple drinks. Had waaaay to much to drink at some bar near Times Sqaure, went to some other place in NJ, all of us went back to my other friend's place and I passed out their for the night. Good time had by all. Now it's off to work.

So until next year....

Wife and I spent from 8pm til 2am at the home of two of our closest friends (a gay couple), and a small group of their friends. Started at 8pm and we finally rang a cab at 3am. Considering the heat here in SYD (approx 38 celsius!) we had a fantastic time and a BBQ consisting of steaks, continental snags, and tiger prawn kebabs - yummo! We narly went up in smoke as the host started the 5 burner BBQ - and forgot to ignite the gas ! God if someone hadn't noticed...... and a cigarette had been lit we might have ended up at 36,000 feet Embarrassment

It now 2.48pm NY Day, and i'm on my 4th glass of Riesling  Smile and its bloody 44 degs celsius outside............... shudda got the aircon installed b4 Chrissy - bummer!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Sad

Hope 2006 brings health and happiness to all on A.net

Cheers from Oz

new years day was spent with friends at a picnic by the river, then back to the pub for more booze..i'd estimate between the 5 of us we've spent about $2000 on booze, food and entry fees this past 4 days! we still have a public holiday tomorrow which looks like another pub day.

Met up with some mates in London, went out for a meal and was going to go to the Thames where the fireworks were, then drink afterwards. But just my luck, i ate way to much, felt like crap before even touching alcohol, so i went home on the train, fell asleep and missed my stop, and there were no trains in the other direction, so had to be picked up from Barnham. Saw in the new year with my family and the people they had over, then went to bed, and i just woke up and still feel ill. Excellent!

It was really nice. I have a serious cold (horribly contagious) and put it out yesterday afternoon that I was staying put with my hot toddy and cats. Lo and behold at 10pm a bottle of champagne and something spicey and delicious arrived at my door. Then at about 11 the phone started ringing and rang it in with a 'good' friend and as some of my friends from the other time zones arrived home they called..... finally got in bed at 5 am.... and never left home!..... my little black dress stayed in the closet for another time.

And from me as well. I've become quite attached from afar to fellow odd a.netters over the past few years. From A-Z I think we comprise an interesting group of aviation dweebs. Could there be any better ?

Hung out with my friend, watched Maurice as the last movie of 2005 (Maurice was released in 1987) amazing movie. Watched the ball drop at Times Square, kissed my friend. ate a pomegranate for good luck, and fell asleep. Standard stuff for me except for watching Maurice.

Fired off a few rounds with the shotguns (it's a bit dry to be fooling w/ fireworks) and had a bit of booze with wifey. We got home early to avoid the amatuers and flashing blue lights (the tax collectors have DUI "checkpoints" even out here in the sticks in Tennessee).

Wishing all A-netters (even the ones I have "issues" with  Smile ) a very good New Year and hope you all may prosper in peace. Be safe and carry on...Regards...Jack

Mine was disappointing. Had arranged to hang out with friends but the dynamic was odd and I gave up and went home before 11. So at midnight I was quietly at home with Mr. Harlot. That part of it wasn't disappointing.  Smile

Happy New Year to all of you A.nutters. Hope to meet more of you in person in 2006.  Smile

absolutely horrendous....went down to visit a few friends finishing up school at Indiana University.

we got down, had some fun for a little while on the night of the 29th/morning of the 30th and decided to call it quits for the evening

on the way to the house we were staying at, my best friend lost control of his truck, the rear end slid back and forth a few times before finally sliding all the way around and finally hitting a curb on the side of the road, throwing the truck sideways into a ditch about 5 feet below. of course losing control wasn't enough, so we ended up upside down in the truck kicking out windows to escape.

needless to say, i was a bit on edge last night and didn't do anything but stand around at a party full of people absolutely wasted. i wanted to be one of those people so bad, but i just wasn't in the mood.  ill

All I can say it was fantastic Big grin, good grub, plenty of booze, plenty of fun and plenty of spilling drinks, and plenty of someone trying to get me to drink Carona beer and pouring it into my malibu and coke  Wink

Expect some pics soon Big grin

Would've at least soaked my feet in champagne or beer ... for the sake of saying I consumed something.

On my end, hung out with friends at home with lotsa grub and booze, then headed out to a casino to burn cash. Was a great new years'.

I get to celebrate two Christmases (Dec 25 / Jan 7) and two New years (Jan 1 / Sept 11), so gotta spread the energy ...
