ITunes Help

Mon Jan 02, 2006 9:46 am

So I recently downloaded the new version of iTunes and all of my purhcased music now has album photos to go with it when I'm playing songs. When I play non-purhcased music, it has a blank screen in the corner and says "Drag Album Artwork here".

So I searched for the albums in iTunes and tried to drag the image to that screen but it won't let me. Does anyone know how to insert the album images for songs you did not purchase using iTunes?

Are you using Tiger?

I downloaded a Widget that automatically finds the album art using Amazon.com, and you can add the album art to your song from the widget with a couple of clicks.

It is called AlbumArt. Look for it in the widgets section of apple.com

I found another one here

http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/music/amazonalbumart.html

Enjoy it!

The covers have always been there. You probably just didn't enable the display pane.

The easiest way to get the cover artwork for your other tracks is this:

iTunes can't be full screen, and you drag the image from a Windows Explorer window. Or you can use the "Get Info" as stated in the first reply. To do a whole album, just select all the songs in that album (Click the first song, hold shift and click the last) and Right-Click --> Get Info. That is probably the fastest way to do it.

Hope that helps!  bigthumbsup

Let's say you want to add the same album art for a bunch of songs, do you have to do each one individually?

The proper term is "on final" not "on finals" bud...

Quoting Evan767 (Reply 6):

Because they're popular devices and software, and people need help with it at times. Simple as that.

iTunes will automatically convert WMA files to AAC, but there will be some loss of quality during the re-encoding. But that is only possible with non-encrypted files.

If your WMA files can be burned to CD (all iTunes Music Store titles can be, by the way), you can burn them to CD and then re-rip them with iTunes. Somewhat inconvenient, but it's a one-time effort only.

Thanks for the tip Klaus.

I'll have to burn and rip as I have tried converting the music but it isn't allowed due to the licenses.

It doesn't hurt anyway to have a backup of your downloaded music.

Yeah thats true, but i really need to backup my whole computer but i'm too cheap to buy an external hard drive and it would take a lot of cds or dvds to do.

Then set priorities - don't backup stuff you could easily re-install anyway. Start with personal documents, photos and customized settings; If you're not producing masses of self-made videos you propably wouldn't need all that many DVD-Rs to back up the most important stuff.
