4th and 10, with less than a minute left, I watched Lafayette air one out towards the end zone. With that pass went the Lehigh-Lafayette game, the Patriot League championship, and any chance at the playoffs. Only I-AA, but still the longest ongoing college rivalry. Always next year...

Lots of great bowl games this year, even pre Jan 1, like the Houston bowl, Holiday bowl, etc.

My team, THE TEXAS LONGHORNS won it all and I am happy! Big grin THe Rose Bowl was a great game over all, as were most of the BCS.

I guess LSU's drubbing of Miami was the biggest suprise?...(margin of victory wise).

South Carolina pulls a choke job in the Independence Bowl against Mizzou, allowing the Tigers to come from behind to win it. Final record of 7-5.

From division II - Northern Michigan one of the worst displays to football to be found. 2-9 with several games of giving up in excess 60 points. After four years with the clown as the coach, they finally got a new coach with a winning past.

LSU blew out Miami in the Peach Bowl, and wound up 5th or 6th, depending on which poll one is looking at.

UCLA went 10-2 and won the Sun Bowl, and $C lost the Rose Bowl. It was a very very good year. And Baylor won 5 games. So check that. It was a miraculous year.

My two teams, ND and BC (I know, I know) improved. BC won the MPC Computers Bowl (that's what you get for mispronouncing Kiawanuka's name!  Wink ) and found a pretty good rookie QB  Smile. ND lost the Fiesta Bowl (and me $20 and lots of namecalling due to current location of residence  Sad ) but Brady looks like he'll be coming back next year  Smile.
Well I believe it all is coming to an end. Oh well, I guess we are gonna pretend.

Ohio State got stronger and stronger as the year went on and went out with the bang. I hope they can fill the big holes left behind on defense for next year. Second game of the season is at Texas, but they get both Penn State and Michigan at home next year.

Wisconsin's defense stepped it up against Auburn with an impressive win in the bowl game. We shall see how they fare with Bielema as head coach.

Roll Tide! Alabama finished 10-2, with only the debacle against Auburn (  Angry ) as a major disappointment.

This was by far, the best college football season of all time. It was capped by the best college football game of all time, which was dominated by the best college football player of all time, named Vincent Young.

I must admit, I was one of the 93,000 in attendance of the event in Pasedena last wednesday. Truly one of the greatest moments in sports history. The Texas Longhorns are once again the national champions. In the words of number 10 for the burnt orange, "It's coming home to Austin Texas, baby".

My team? Hmm... the two closest are University of Buffalo and Syracuse University. .

I gues "my team" didn't do so well.

Michigan State...I'd rather not talk about.

But...since I live in Texas now I can claim the Longhorns as my own!

Next year Notre Dame has got to be the pre-season #1. They have the talent to go all the way, barring injuries and some bad calls.

If Vince Young comes back Texas will be preseason #1.

Pre-season shouldn't have many major differences...

Again, if Vince Young returns Texas is #1, so they are in the top spot. Notre DAme and Penn State will remain Top 10, probably Top 5. USC will fall to the Top 15 or 20...depending on how the off season looks with the new replacements. LSU will probably come up a bit, VA Tech will fall. Oregon will probably be in the Top 15 to start the year, but also expect Oklahoma to be close to them. Oklahoma's ranking will depend on how well the off season goes for Bomar and Peterson. If both are healthy and continue to show great improvement, it will really boost OU up the polls - ESPN's early pre-season poll has them at #8. Of course early big tests for Oklahoma include a game at Oregon, at Oklahoma State, and in Dallas against Texas.

Either way...

Congrats to the Horns, and I can't wait for the 06 season to start.  Smile
