GKirk & Pe@rson - Separated At Birth?

Wed Jan 18, 2006 8:24 pm

What does everyone think ? There are some striking similarities.

Both of them are/have:

spotty useless layabouts
got degrees from Scumbag College
regularly start stupid threads up - and to a greater extent than everyone else
girlfriendless and seemingly more interested in sheep
thread hijackers at all times
no respect for their elders and betters
learned absolutely nothing from the wiser members of the forum such as myself, Banco, Skidmarks, ANC, etc.
come from rubbish parts of the country.

Feel free to add other striking similarities. It's uncanny isn't it Big grin

Both love Low Cost Carriers - as they are poor
Both get plastered after 2 pints - of Carling.

Will think of more later.

Yes, I think given Jeffrey Archer's libel experiences, you might be advised to quieten down on that point.

Is there any difference between "advising a committee" and "helping the police with their enquiries"?

Actually, if I've got these libel laws right, you can call him what you want as long as you put "allegedly" at the end. Obviously, in the above case, that's not required... Big grin

Some say a lot of it is the actual participation rather than winning. George Carman QC, for example, was so concerned with winning than merely participating that he never did become a judge (part-time or full-time) even though some argue that he'd have made a fine judge (perhaps his alcoholic nature played a part here). However, this suggestion goes completely against the nature of the Bar: you're effectively self-employed (the set in which you're a tenant receives a certain amount of money from you monthly or annually for tenancy and clerks, etc.) and so your reputation (based on your ability, not market forces as with solicitors) is everything and dictates what cases you get (bar the clerk discretion which offers some under-the-table flexibility). So, surely winning is all? Anyway, that's something to think about.

Have I Got News For You is always great.
