Computer Question Re: Google

Thu Jan 26, 2006 5:51 am

Does anyone on here know if there is a way to delete items on the space where you type in search terms? I'm tired of seeing all the searches I've done over the last few years every time I type in a new search.

thanks!

Firefox: tools -> options -> privacy -> saved modules -> clear information saved in modules now

Internet Explorer: tools -> internet options -> contents -> automatic completion -> delete modules

Translated freely from my Italian browser version, but you should get the idea...

It worked. I'm still one of those people who only know how to use the VERY basics of home electronics!

I only found out this facility about a week ago, and I don't even know how I stumbled upon it.

I know how you feel Jake056, and I've had to seek advice in here, and got it as well, but there is a site called Bleeping Computer http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/
where you can register (free) and there are plenty of computer geeks in there ready to answer all your questions.

Just right click on the search box and select "clear search history".

Oops, that is for Firefox. For IE, you'll see an arrow just to the left of the search box. Click that then select "clear search history"

In the settings for the Google toolbar you can specify whether you want search history saved.
