Perhaps This Is Why It Isn't A Deterrent

25 years after the crime he is finally put to death. The article doesn't go into the details of how he was caught and convicted but if it happened shortly after the crime then this is one reason the death penalty is not a deterrent. I believe in making sure that the right person is convicted for the crime but allowing endless appeals makes a mockery of the sentence itself.
