Thanks..

Sat Feb 04, 2006 5:34 am

Hi All,

I would just like to say a big thankyou to all those who have said prayers and thoughts for me through my times in need. I'm still very shocked at all the e.mails, private messages and other means of support i received, each and every single one means the world to me and i can't thank you all enough.

Special thanks though please to Kaz, her Mum.. Lee.. Mike and Jaspike also the old git Andy. Without these guys i dont know where i would be now, i know there's some distace between us all but the phone contact keeping me together ill never be able to thank you enough.

I left the hospital on my own accord this time, maybe a stupid mistake i know, but i have my reasons for not wanting to be there any longer, i wont go into details but the police have him again.

I'm still suffering with pain and slight breathing diffuculty, due to the pain of in/exhaling.. so its short breaths all the time untill the pain goes.

Again i can't thank all you folks who replied to my threads, you guys brought a smile to my face in times of need and i really appreciate it.

Lew

I've been praying for you. Remember to treat your head, too. Watch out for post traumatic stress symptoms. From experience, it can sneak up on you without realising it.

God Bless.

Actually, we should thank you - I have never seen so much fraternity and caring on a thread before. You brought out (unwillingly) the best in a lot of people. And somehow made this forum a bit nicer.

Take a lot of rest! When you feel like doing something, take more rest! It'll do you good in the long run, the last thing you want is another hospital visit. Plus you're probably costing Kaz a fortune in phone bills!  Wink

Take Care

It was quite nerve-wracking for us all, although I'm aware that it must have been a whole lot worse for yourself. Please take care of yourself and don't take any avoidable risks... Although I don't know you personally, I'd hate to see anything happen to you.

All the best, and get well soon! Big grin

I think that I am really reflecting several people here when I say take care, take it easy and rest up.

Your body has suffered several insults, some in the name of violence, some in the name of history over the past couple weeks. I would really strongly recommend that you take our advice and breath easy.

Not good, if you start coughing or sneezing you might want to try and check yourself back into the hospital.

Those are pretty violent events for lungs and you don't want to risk pulling out your staples and stiches.

Plus any infection is a lot more serious when your body is already hard at work repairing a major injury and possibly fighting wound infections (if just minor ones).

I'd be very careful about that. A "cold" could be a number of different things just manifesting similarly, but under the circumstances I'd definitely talk about it to the doctors who are treating you and let them have their say.

Please be careful!

Yeah i spoke with my GP this afternoon regarding it as i didnt want to take any chances. I have a snuffed up nose and the croaky voice thats all, no sneezing or coughing (yet) but if that does arise then i will seek medical help right away.

Thanks again to everyone for the replies.

Does he/she have experience with post-surgical handling of infection? I'm no expert, but in your situation I'd feel a bit safer if the same doctors handling your post-op care knew about it... After all, many infections can feel similar, and your immune system certainly has its hands full right now...!

Just please be extra careful!
