Top Gear Winter Olympic Special

Fri Feb 10, 2006 2:30 am

As some people may know there is a special Winter Olympic special of Top Gear.

Jeremy, Richard and James go to Norway to do some funny stunts with cars.

Information of Radio Times.com

Top Gear Winter Olympics

9:10pm - 10:10pm - BBC2

The last series of Top Gear was cruelly short, but here's compensation - a one-off special where the team attempt winter-sports-type events, but with cars. So Richard Hammond plays a game of car ice hockey, while Jeremy Clarkson and James May do the biathlon in four-wheel drives. Given their record with these kind of stunts, you'd bet on it being hugely enjoyable. (There were no tapes, sadly.)

And it will be repeated: Saturday 18 February 10:15pm - 11:15pm BBC2

Going to be good

Tom.

Fuck!

Was that the best episode or what? I was absolutely pissing myself at the end with James' line and Richard's amazing wall. Brilliant! Jeremy's mp5 Biathlon and James flipping his car in the ice hockey.

Top Gear is just about the best program ever Big grin

Omg that is the funniest thing to appear on T.v. in ages. ROFLMFAO when trying to paint the line.

How did they get permission to rip up all the snow and stuff??

I liked this show since it was played here in the USA on the Discovery channel, but they have done some really crazy stuff. Especially crashing these cars they were driving into a brick wall to see which one would still work and loosing points for hurting themselves. Well I would like to see them come to the Auto show here and we could see them check out the cars and say what they think about the competition. I will be looking forward to see this episode just as I liked the others.

I was FLMAO when they fired the Mini off the ski jump, and when James was trying to paint the line and again when Richard was trying to make a snow bank on the wrong side.

As well as when they said that the Jag had it's teeth whitened.

I wish they would release all these on DVD, every single episode.

I reckomend you get "Clarksons, Heaven And Hell" he basically smashes up old bangers by cutting them in half and then driving them, hitting cars with sledge hammers and setting fire to lots of cars. Between all that he drives some of the best cars made in the world. I got it for christmas and it was an hour of dieing with laughter!!

I'd love to hear the reaction of the PR person at Suzuki who's asked whether they can "borrow" ten new Swifts to smash up playing ice hockey.

Presumably they tell them to piss off and they have to go out and buy them.

Much the same as the PR person at Toyota when they asked for 10 Aygos to play football with  Smile

More proof that Top Gear is far funnier than any supposed comedy show on TV these days.

And one of the funnier lines was the unintentional comment from one of the rocket boys when presented with the idea of putting skis on the Mini.

"We'll have to make them".

I'm pretty sure they did something like the latter in a previous episode - they raced a WRC driver against a Bobsled team, seeing who could get down the mountain fastest Big grin

I laughed at that, and I didn't know why they did it until a few replies ago.  Silly

Great episode!

Best in a while I would say.  Smile A huge laugh. Hopefully there will be more like it.

Another funny bit was when they were throwing the Audi n Volvo around. I swear they were trying to replicate the WRC the other month. When one of the rally drivers broke the car, when going over a jump and landing it on it's nose.
