Liverpool Beat United In FA Cup, But...

Sun Feb 19, 2006 10:29 pm

...it's a certain episode after 85 minutes I'll remember the best from that match.  Sad

How nasty is this?!

The World cup seems lost now, and this does no good to Uniteds growing injury list.

Congrats Liverpool.

Only one piece of silverwear remains for the reds this season. Unless Chelsea take a tumble beyond imagination in the premiership.

It was a shocking injury, the type every footballer dreads, not only did he break a leg he also dislocated an ankle. He is due to have surgery today which means the fracture is quite severe, seeing how other players have come back from this type of injury, (Djibril Cisse, Wayne Bridge) i think it could take anything from 9 months to a year before he's back playing. I hope he recovers well and ASAP.

He could be back in 7 or 8 months. He is likely to be in plaster for 3 to 4 months. Does look nasty though.  sigh

If I was to be perfectly honest, I don't think Alan Smith would have got into the England world cup squad anyway!

I think he might make it into the squad, but he probably wouldn't make too many appearences. If any.

So it appears the career isn't in jeopardy anymore.

Btw, another footballer experienced a twist in the recent week.
Totti hurt his ankle pretty bad as can be seen in this photo.

Not true. His adaption to playing as a midfielder rather than a striker, has more or less secured him a place in the first 11.

(Especially now that Scholes is out for the rest of the season.)
